This book is such a good read for autumn; it has really good dark academia vibes, with really interesting, morally complex characters. The story can be a little slow at times, but overall, the whole concept is very cool. Definitely worth reading!

It's very different from how the synopsis makes it sound. While I usually like Pollon books, it's very different from his other books. There isn't a driving plot, and it's a lot of science. The first chapter is very dense with information, but the rest of the book is lighter and easier to read. It's quite interesting, but I didn't really enjoy reading it.

I read this book after I saw the movie, which I don't usually do but there were enough differences between the book and the movie that I was still able to be surprised by some of it. It includes science in a way that is very palatable, but Andy Weir is not omniscient so there are some things that are wrong. The book flows very well, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Taylor Jenkins Reid's novel, Atmosphere, is based in NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas during the 1980's. It follows Joan, the main character, and a group of other astronauts as NASA had just begun to allow female astronaut candidates into the program. I liked this book because it was very inspiring especially because I have always had an interest in space and astronomy. I was also surprised that this book had such emotional depth whether that was the main character, Joan's, romantic relationship, the neglect and abuse her niece endured, or the friendships Joan had during her time at NASA in general. It also had this back-and-forth from past to present throughout the book that I think made the ending even more impactful. I thought this was the best Taylor Jenkins Reid book I have read so far and I was happy to see more depth in her characters in this book.

This book was actually so much more interesting than the movie adaptations! Generally, Frankenstein is written into a horror movie as opposed to what Mary Shelly actually intended, but this book was so much more interesting than just a horror story. There were definitely some horrifying aspects, but overall it felt much more similar to a sci fi novel, exploring both a scientifically improbable invention and its moral implications. The narrative was technically epistolary, but it read more like your average first person perspective for most of the book as Victor Frankenstein relates the story to a sailor, who then writes it down to send to his sister in a letter. It was really good, but I had to take a star off for the slight monotony of some of the monologuing, especially towards the end.

If you are a memoir person, this book is truly the one for you. An incredibly amazing book that keeps you emotionally on the hook since chapter one. You might think things will get better and then the rollercoaster comes crashing right back down again. Michelle Zauner wrote this memoir because she kept finding herself in the same H Mart grieving over the loss of her mother. Michelle Zauner's mother had developed pancreatic cancer and ever since then, Michelle had grief for the loss of her mother. When it comes to their relationship, its extremely unique and it is demanding. Although the main thing that made their relationship strong was one thing that they both did together. The one thing that all of us love, enjoy, and the one popular thing that brings families, friends, and people together on a wide scale. Michelle goes out of her way to give her mother some last and great experiences. Michelles mother gave something up so that she wouldn't be a burden to the family. Michelle last sees her mother, passed away, a truly sad thing for anyone to witness.
