The project was approved by BIE facilities, but not funded by BIE. The expansion includes 4 immersion classrooms, home ec, vocational education (band/music room), practical fine arts (Dakota Culture), and an indoor recess/cultural activities area. The Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate contributed $2,000,000 in funding from their ARPA funding and the school wrote a grant to Shakopee Mdewankanton Community that was funded for $1,000,000. The school is ever thankful (wopida tanka) to these two entities and has hung a star quilt for each with a plaque recognizing their contribution. The School Board of Enemy Swim authorized the administration to borrow $7,000,000 from the Watertown, SD branch of American Bank & Trust. The beautiful space was designed by DSGW architects and built by the Sioux Falls, SD branch of McGough Construction, Inc. Mural by Professional Artist Kenzee Schafer.
