In Memory of Those We’ve Lost 💜 by Love Surrounds You

This space was created to honor and remember the people we have lost to suicide.

If someone you love is no longer here, we invite you to share their photo, their name, a favorite memory, a story, or anything else you would like others to know about them.

Behind every loss is a person who was loved, who mattered, and whose life left an impact on the people around them. This is a space to remember them for who they were, to say their names, and to keep their memories alive.

Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, you are welcome here. Share as much or as little as you feel comfortable sharing. 💜

Sgt. Swajanen was an avionics tech and my first mentor when I got to my duty station at MCAS Cherry Point. He was truly an amazing individual who deployed on Marine Expeditionary Units (MEU) and to Afghanistan. He wanted to do something bigger with his life, so he tried out for MARSOC. Unfortunately, life has other plans for him, and he did not make it through. Shortly after, in February of 2017, two years after I had been out, he took his life, leaving behind a wife and two beautiful daughters. He is still missed to this day, and the Marines whose lives he touched were forever changed. Until Valhalla, Sgt. Swaj

I moved to a different house and his family moved to another town about 3 years later and we lost touch. Then to the wonder of Facebook we were able to reconnect and talk about all of the fun things we used to do as kids. Then a few years later he lost his dad to cancer. Shortly before his 38th birthday, he took his life and left a mom (now passed due to cancer), sister (now passed due to cancer), wife, and a 6 yr old son (now 20) & 6mo old son (now 14). I'm Thankful for the friendship we had.

As a result of that he had a tbi. Fast-forward again to 2025. My dad had some mental health issues on top of his tbi resulting in him ending his life in happy valley upstate ny. I was never there to say goodbye as I live here in florida. I had just participated in my first ride out of the darkness.

He was an incredible man, husband, stepdad, and grandad who left us far too soon.

Randy was a proud Navy veteran with a heart of absolute gold. He was the kind of person who would have given his last dollar to someone in need, always looking out for fellow veterans who required a helping hand.

Though his life started out in a rough place, Randy possessed a rare, fierce strength. He fought hard against the grip of addiction, beat it completely, and chose to live his life out loud. He loved to travel, loved to sing and dance, and truly knew how to be the beautiful center of every room he walked into. He always had a warm smile ready and a joke to crack, bringing light and laughter to everyone around him.

Last year on October 4th, he woke up so incredibly excited to take part in the Love Surrounds You Out of the Darkness ride for our very first time. Tragically, it became his last ride when an accident claimed his life and severely injured his wife. While our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing he passed away doing exactly what he loved, with the person he loved most right by his side.

Randy, you are missed beyond words by your wife, your immediate family, and your close friends. Your strength, your laughter, and your generous spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

We say her name: Tricha Lynn Henderson.

Tricha was a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend, and a light in the lives of so many. She was deeply loved by her husband, Michael Henderson. He was devoted to her. They built a life together in Sachse, rode together, and shared a love that those closest to them still honor. The loss of Tricha left a hole that only those who have loved that completely can understand.

We lost my lovely nephew on September 23, 11 years ago. He was a bright light in many lives. He loved animals and they loved him. He is truly missed. His life and death have touched so many. He lived. He mattered. He always will.

On April 27th, 2026 my beloved cousin Liora “Tracy” Hess took her own life. She had been dealing with depression and health issues for years. She was a very talented artist and painted animal portraits amongst so many other things. I shall miss her dearly.
