Nik, my lesson of a son for this life.

Nik lived with me when I stumbled onto him. He had too much spark to be given up on and unknown support system. He was a very private guy, but that much I knew. For The Last 5 Years I've been his major support system, through thick and thin. Those around me latched onto him as well, as he was way more loved than he would ever give himself credit for. I took him for birthdays, my partner and I hung him stockings each Christmas, provide him with transportation, a dirt bike& facility to ride with the crew, and showed him what he seemed to never have experienced. That broke my heart, and enabled me to show this human how to be selfless, as Christ and my earthly Father had shown me. We went through more ups and downs than I've ever been through with another human and I'm crushed that his journey, that he hadn't even gotten to truly enjoy yet, had come to a tragic end. I will miss my friend until my day is done, as well.

As for memories, yes. The entire last 5+ years, through the triumphs & trenches, and I have zero ways to put that into words.

Davey

PS He would want his ashes on the track.

I'm sorry, I didn't know your son, but I heard of his passing and wanted to leave my condolences. I hope that you are able to find lots of stories and memories of him from his friends, but I just wanted you to know that I see your son and how much he was loved. I hope the Lord brings you comfort.

First picture was the first time Nik ran an excavator and I taught him how to run virtually all heavy equipment and he picked up on everything really quickly and became a very good equipment operator! Is favorite machine was a dozer. Nik and I literally built a 32 lot subdivision from the ground up and laid countless feet of utilities and moved countless yard of earth. He was very smart and very well versed in heavy civil work after just a few short years. I am going to miss grinding with him! He was a hard worker and great friend. The second picture is a time we were riding and I caught him nearly wrecking and it was a funny pic to us because he did not crash but almost did! 😂 I have no idea how he rode that out. I can tell you this I have many memories of Nik crashing a dirt bike and he always got up brushed himself off and got back on. He was one of the toughest guys I knew for sure. The rest of the photos are just how our relationship was. We didn’t do much else together other than work and I wish I would have taken some pictures of us together but we never stopped to do that because we were always hard at work. I will at least cherish the photos I do have of him working. I’m going to miss you Nik. I will miss working with you and talking about equipment, talking about dirt, I will miss riding with you and I will miss teaching you things about life and excavation. Rest in peace brother!

You were my first everything—my first love, my first heartbreak, and someone who helped shape the person I am today. Even though life took us in different directions, the memories we shared and the place you held in my heart will always be a part of me. I’ll always be grateful for the good times, the lessons, the laughter, and even the moments that weren’t easy.

He was a kind soul that come into our lives. He was guarded and a private person, but if you ever had the chance to see his heart you are lucky! He was always willing to help me with anything, painting a room, putting down flooring, putting together exercise equipment, and he always helped put up my 12ft Christmas tree. He was always there for birthdays, holidays or Sunday dinners. Even after life lead lead him a different direction I would get random holiday greetings from him. My heart is so sad but so thankful that I got the chance to know Kolya and his kind and caring heart. He was loving, kind, funny, sweet, helpful and so talented, could do anything he put his mind to. He will always be in our hearts!!!

Distance kept us from being as close as I wish we could have been, and now I wish more than anything that we had more time.

More conversations. More memories. More chances.

I’ll always remember his easygoing spirit, love of the outdoors, and doing things his own way.

I’ll miss you, cousin💔🕊️
