Regarding Library Consortiums & Associations, I am interested in the mechanics of collective bargaining—specifically how consortia negotiate equitable cost-sharing models—and the governance challenges of maintaining shared technical infrastructures across different institutions. In the realm of Open Science & Access, I want to explore how to effectively apply FAIR principles to non-traditional research outputs, rather than just standard publications. Finally, concerning the Empowerment of local communities & Good Policies, I want to discover how public libraries can serve as active data-literacy hubs, helping residents better engage with local civic data. On the policy side, I am keen to understand how to draft regulations that protect traditional knowledge from being exploited by commercial AI systems.

I work at the Library and Information Centre of the Hellenic Mediterranean University for 30 years. For the past four years, as a manager, I have focused on improving the services provided to our users. Ι believe that the library plays a central role in academic life, providing resources, services, and space for learning and knowledge creation. I want students feel library as their home. After all “Library is the heart of the university”.

We achieved equal access to education in 2022, by providing a new service converting educational material into an accessible format.

I am a senior librarian in The Acquisition Department at Library of Bialystok University of Technology. Additionally, I am responsible for such duties as hosting foreign guests visiting our library, our website in English and leading information literacy trainings for domestic and foreign students.

I appeared on a local radio program a few times (2018-2023) representing our library in the audition Biblioteka – Lubię to!.   Preparing occasional exhibitions in our library galery is connected mainly with my hobbies.

Library of Bialystok University of Technology is the only one technical library in the north-eastern part of Poland. It provides students, teachers, and researchers with access to a wide range of books, scientific journals, databases, and electronic resources. I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm and knowledge with others, that is why I believe I am equally good at writing articles about my interests and teaching about issues related to librarianship and library practice. I am naturally sociable and I enjoy bringing people together, especially when those connections lead to creative collaborations and new ideas.

A political scientist by training, I completed my PhD in 2019. My research, published by the Presses universitaires du Septentrion in 2025, focuses on the history of Christian democracy in France from the late nineteenth century to the end of the twentieth century.

I’m pleased that, years ago, we were the first department at our university to introduce gender-neutral restrooms.

In general, we take a very user-oriented approach, and it’s very important to us to address the needs of our library users.

I already hold a Master’s degree in Art History, so my academic background is firmly rooted in the humanities. Nevertheless, I really enjoy working in a multidisciplinary environment and supporting and supporting researchers, particularly with the financial and administrative reporting of research projects.

I am very happy to join this International Week and to have the opportunity to meet colleagues from different countries, share experiences and learn from each other.

The Central University Library (BCA) supports teaching and research across the University through three branches: the Humanities and Scientific branches in Potenza, and the Matera branch, located alongside the Provincial Library “Tommaso Stigliani” in the historic Palazzo dell’Annunziata, in the heart of the city. The two libraries maintain their distinct identities while benefiting from each other’s presence and expertise.

The BCA also provides access to shared bibliographic and electronic resources through national and inter-university networks, and supports Open Access publishing through the Basilicata University Press (BUP).

My dual perspective as a university officer and a student gives me the opportunity to look at research from two different sides: supporting researchers in my professional role, while experiencing academic life and research as a student.

From my experience in research administration, I am particularly interested in understanding how libraries and research offices can work together to provide better support to researchers throughout the research process.

Basilicata has a rich and diverse cultural heritage, with ancient Greek roots along the Ionian coast. Metaponto was one of the most important Greek colonies in Magna Graecia, while Matera, famous for its Sassi, represents another extraordinary chapter of the region’s history and was European Capital of Culture in 2019.

TThe regional capital is Potenza, a city in the mountains and the administrative centre of Basilicata. The region itself offers very different landscapes, from mountains and forests to the sandy beaches of the Ionian coast and the rocky coastline of the Tyrrhenian Sea, as well as many small villages and archaeological sites.

And, of course, there are warm and welcoming people and plenty of good food!

Before becoming librarian, between 2004 and 2015, I was involved in projects for the "Cała Polska czyta dzieciom" ("All of Poland Reads to Kids") Foundation and was responsible — primarily, though not exclusively — for media campaigns linked to initiatives promoting reading.

In 2018 I completed postgraduate studies in library science.

In 2019 I became member of a team set up to refine and integrate the library system functioning at the University of Warsaw (main library plus 36 libraries at different faculties, institutes and units).

From 2023 to 2025 I participated in a project (which I also coordinated) dedicated to retrospective cataloging, financed from government funds, and carried out in cooperation with the main library of the University of Warsaw and the Library of the Artes Liberales Faculty.

Since 2025 I have been Dean’s representative for libraries of the Faculty of Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw, overseeing 4 libraries with the vast humanities collection (over 250 000 volumes).

Currently I am involved in a project on reorganisation of 4 libraries of the Faculty of Polish Studies, and I am also a member of the Committee on the Regulations for the Library Services and the Use of Library Collections of the University of Warsaw.

One of its biggest strengths is material connected specifically with Zadar, Dalmatia, and the Adriatic, making it valuable for researching local history.

The Library  preserves original historical sources that can tell you what Zadar and Dalmatia were like centuries ago.

My professional development has evolved alongside the changing needs of library users. Today, my work is primarily focused on supporting research activities within the Faculty. I advise research groups on journal selection for publication, analyse publication costs and journal rankings, prepare bibliometric reports for academic staff, and provide guidance on all aspects of Open Science and research dissemination. I also support undergraduate students in their final year, doctoral candidates, and predoctoral researchers by advising them on scholarly publishing, academic writing standards (including APA style), database searching, search strategy development, and self-archiving in the institutional repository.

As Director of the Sports Sciences Library, I am committed to developing a balanced and inclusive collection that reflects all academic disciplines taught within the Faculty while promoting gender equity in scholarly resources and addressing the historical underrepresentation of women in science. I also strive to make the library an open, welcoming, and inclusive environment where every user feels supported and can find reliable guidance for their information needs.

UPC is known for its strong focus on education and research in engineering and technology, as well as for its international outlook and collaboration with universities, research institutions and companies around the world.

My previous experience in e-learning and instructional design continues to influence my approach to professional development. I am interested in digital learning, communities of practice, collaborative knowledge sharing and the application of new technologies, including generative AI, in higher education and library contexts. I am especially interested in how librarians can develop new skills and collaborate across professional communities to respond effectively to the changing needs of universities and their users; in this context, I am currently developing a Community of Practice project for librarians as part of a postgraduate programme.

From 2018 to 2024, I was part of the Archive and Collections Management Department at Casa da Arquitectura, where I worked closely with different types of collections and projects related to architecture.

I’m currently responsible for the CDUA – Documentation Centre for Urbanism and Architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto, where I focus on the preservation, management and dissemination of documentary heritage related to architecture and urbanism.

Overall, my work brings together art, architecture, archives and heritage — areas that allow me to move between research, preservation and sharing knowledge.

My work involves providing researchers with up-to-date information on open science, including open access publishing programs, data management plans, and the collection and dissemination of research data.

My main responsibilities at the college include coordinating and organising administrative procedures, including using and managing the university’s document management system; providing administrative support to staff; coordinating and organising academic ceremonies; and coordinating the work of the College Council and the College Management Board.

My main responsibilities include developing the library, managing the collection and ensuring that our resources support the study programmes offered at the college. I am also responsible for adding new books to the library database and improving the usability of our library services. As our library is relatively small, I am involved in a wide range of everyday library tasks.

Our collection is based mainly on the study programmes offered at Pärnu College. The college offers professional higher education programmes in Entrepreneurship and Project Management, Tourism and Hotel Management, Social Work and Rehabilitation Management, and Design Thinking and Digital Marketing. At Master's level, students can study Service Design and Management, Human-Centred Social Innovation, and Personal Branding-based Entrepreneurship.

In recent years, I have become increasingly interested in the possibilities of artificial intelligence in libraries and in developing information literacy. I would particularly like to learn how other universities and libraries approach the use of AI in academic work and what guidelines they have established for students using AI when writing assignments and theses.

Pärnu College has a long tradition of teaching tourism and hospitality. Therefore, our library also has a particularly good collection of literature related to tourism.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, travelling, and taking my dog for walks.

Pärnu College belongs to the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Tartu, thus allowing students to obtain versatile knowledge in close cooperation with faculty members and students of economics, social sciences, psychology and several other specialities.

Pärnu also has an important place in Estonian history. It is considered the birthplace of the Republic of Estonia because Estonia's independence was publicly proclaimed here for the first time on 23 February 1918.

In particular, I am interested in how services aimed at different target groups – staff, students and visitors – are organised and developed at other universities, as well as what solutions are used to make administrative and service processes more efficient and user-friendly.

We also have four seasons – sometimes all in the same day! Rain, snow, sunshine and wind can make choosing what to wear a surprisingly challenging decision. 😄

We love our traditional potato dishes, cold pink beetroot soup (šaltibarščiai), and, of course, basketball. And we are still trying our luck at Eurovision – because giving up is simply not our style! 😊

Slovenia is also known for its friendly people, rich culture and traditions. Its cuisine is diverse and includes many delicious traditional dishes made with local ingredients. Although Slovenia is a small country, its natural beauty, welcoming people, culture and food make it a special place to visit and live.

One of the greatest joys of my job is the opportunity to meet and interact every day with creative students and inspiring lecturers. Whenever I take part in an Erasmus mobility programme, I hope to return home with fresh ideas, new perspectives, and inspiration. Most of all, I believe that the best experiences are those in which we can learn from one another.

But apparently, AI has some rather different ideas about how I should spend my time in Greece...

I sometimes call myself a professional volunteer, because for many years I have devoted my free time to volunteering for a wide range of cultural organisations: film festivals, museums, music festivals, and many more.

And then there is travelling — how could I live without it? I love travelling independently, discovering places at my own pace and finding my own way. So far, I have visited nearly 70 countries, and I am still curious to see what lies beyond the next horizon.

So, we Lithuanians sometimes joke that visiting Vilnius is a two-step process:

First, you have to find it on the map.

And only then can you book your flight!

One of our favourite national dishes is šaltibarščiai – a cold pink beetroot soup. And we love it so much that we even organise a whole festival dedicated to it.

The Library of Vilniaus Kolegija consists of a central administration and nine faculty libraries located in different parts of the city.

Like other academic libraries, our library plays an important role in supporting teaching, learning and research.

My professional interests focus on sustainable development in libraries, accessible and inclusive library services, preservation of library materials, and library management. I am a co-founder of the Green Library Group and the Inclusive Library Services Group at the Faculty Library. In 2021, together with a colleague, I launched the Language Café, a programme designed to help international students improve their Croatian language skills and facilitate their integration into the academic community.

I am actively involved in the organisation of professional events and international initiatives. I served on the organising committee of the international conference Libraries and the UN Agenda 2030: The Role of Libraries in Promoting Sustainable Development and am a member of the organising committee of the Green Festival – Karlovac Green Stories, recipient of the IFLA Green Library Award. I regularly present at national and international conferences and participate in Erasmus+ staff mobility programmes and other international professional development activities.

Since 2022, I have been the Editor-in-Chief of Novi uvez, the professional journal of the Zagreb Library Association. I serve as Chair of the Preservation of Library Materials Committee and the Management and Technology Section of the Croatian Library Association, both in my second consecutive term, and I am a member of the Committee for Accessible and Inclusive Library Services. Since 2025, I have been a member of the IFLA Equitable and Accessible Library Services (EALS) Section. I also serve on the programme and organising committees of numerous professional conferences and manage the Facebook page of the national campaign I Want to Read Too!, promoting accessible library services, reading, and the advancement of the library profession.

Since 2022, I’ve been working in the Library of the Department of Musicology, which is part of the Central Humanities Library of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.

It’s a small, specialised library, so I’m basically a one man band — which means I’m responsible for pretty much everything: helping and advising students and other users, managing researchers’ bibliographies, ordering and cataloguing new books and other literature, and taking care of the everyday running of the library.

Besides my day job, I’m also the technical editor of our professional journal Musicological Annaul, and I teach piano part-time at a local music school.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and travelling.

One of the country’s most iconic attractions is the Transfăgărășan, considered by many to be one of the most spectacular roads in the world. Stretching for more than 150 kilometers, the road winds its way through the Făgăraș Mountains, offering breathtaking views along the way. Its dramatic curves and stunning mountain scenery attract adventure seekers and driving enthusiasts from around the world, while the famous British TV show Top Gear on the BBC helped bring international attention to this remarkable road.

Romania also stands out for its rich cultural and religious heritage. The country is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Painted Churches of Northern Moldova, beautifully decorated with remarkable frescoes. Voroneț Monastery is often referred to as the “Sistine Chapel of Romania” because of the extraordinary beauty and vivid colors of its exterior paintings.

Equally impressive are the wooden churches of Maramureș, which are true symbols of Romanian tradition and craftsmanship. Among them is the wooden church in Săpânța, renowned for its impressive height and distinctive architecture.

From spectacular mountain roads and wild landscapes to historic monuments and traditions preserved for generations, Romania is a destination waiting to be discovered and admired.

RTU Scientific Library has two connected buildings — one from 1999 with three floors, and a newer one from 2015 with five floors — offering spacious study areas, including group and individual study cabins, a 24-hour reading room, a rare book room, self-service facilities, and event spaces. The library also manages RTU's Open Access repository, SCIENCE, and has served as the school library for the Engineering high school since 2015.

Riga, the capital of Latvia and my hometown, lies on the Gulf of Riga. Latvia has no mountains, but we have peaceful forests and beautiful white sandy beaches — Jūrmala being the most famous.

I’m assigned to assist and support the AUA community and the library patrons working in the library during their academic learning process: research, individual learning, or implementing group projects, as well as interlibrary loan and document delivery services. I also provide Moodle support sessions for faculty members and students. With the Information Literacy team, we prepare IL sessions and conduct workshops for freshman students. We also create various guides on LibGuides platforms to facilitate users' research process.

Another aspect of my interest is researching different dialects of Armenian.

AUA's Papazian Library periodically enriches e-resources or upgrades the existing subscriptions. We provide research support: developing a search strategy, introducing library resources, ILL service and introducing reference management tools. Also, we provide Information literacy sessions for students: Evaluating sources, Avoiding plagiarism, search tips, etc.

So I wish to collaborate with colleagues who have experience creating OER, along with the faculty members. I am also interested in the Open Access publishing process. I would also be happy to understand how my colleagues prepare and conduct library workshops, the types and features of those sessions and more.

I would be very happy to connect with colleagues who are interested in Open Science, research support, and organising cultural activities and how to encourage using and creating OERs.

The Library of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, is the second-largest library in Croatia by the size of its collection, after the National and University Library in Zagreb. Its collection comprises more than 600,000 volumes.

We are very proud to support researchers and faculty members in managing their publications and research data. We conducted an identifier campaign among researchers two years ago, and the vast majority now have at least one ORCID identifier. We are also a pilot laboratory for organizing seminars for doctoral students and researchers in our laboratory.

UCD Library consists of 5 libraries, along with UCD Archives and the National Folklore Collection. The Library provides library and information services to UCD staff and students. With UCD Archives and the National Folklore Collection housing collections of national importance, including one of only two Irish entries on the UNESCO Memory of the World Register: the Irish Folklore Commission (UCD) the other is the Book of Kells which is housed in Trinity College Dublin.
