Week 1

danieller20 — 2026-09-05 19:20:35 UTC

It was lovely to see everyone back to school and give a huge welcome new friends in Blue class. Although it was a very short week everyone settled in and got stuck into messy art, making choices using colour visuals. Floor time was about exploring toys, having staff interactions and being around friends. On Friday Blue class enjoyed musical communication lots of songs where sang, bubbles where popped and loud noises where created using drums. Everyone went to the sensory playground which was great fun some of us went on different swings, some went zooming on the round about and others tried the seesaw. What a great first week back.

Week 2

Our routine is slowly settling in for Blue class. During sensory baking everyone made cakes the best part was exploring the ingredients first which got us messy. We went to soft play and light room for physical skills, communication and exploration. As the cold months are approaching drumming was autumn themed, it was great to make noise and have fun. Everyone has been working hard on their physio targets and Move targets incorporating messy play. Tuesday was Literacy Day, many books have been read and explored throughout the week to see what books everyone enjoys.

Have a great weekend.

We used conkers and different coloured paint to create our own patterns, lots of choice making and fine motor skills where used. Everyone relaxed during an autumn foot massage where different sensory experiences where offered to link with autumn weather, the massage it’s self was a great hit with everyone. Everyone had been busy with their physical targets and physiotherapy programmes, it’s great to see everyone moving and working hard.

danieller20 — 2026-09-25 05:46:24 UTC

Blue class have continued with their Autumn topic this week as everyone went on a Autumn walk around school to hunt for different colour leaves, twigs and acorns as the season changes. A visit to sensory playground was so much fun going on the swings and see saw it was a great opportunity to use communication skills to request ‘more’. Sensory story is also about an Autumn walk, exploring a variety of props representing Autumn colours whilst listening to the story. Whilst the sun has been out we went for community walk to the shops to buy class snack, we could hear so many different noises and even found lots of conkers. As it’s the biggest ever coffee morning on Friday everyone made Cookies during sensory baking then iced them using Autumn colours ready for our visitors.

To start the week blue class’s sensory story was called My Many Coloured Days, different colours were explored using sensory props whilst listening to the story. Art was then focused on the colour yellow from our sensory story, everyone explored the colour yellow again then decorated a beautiful sunshine. During My Movement sessions standing, walking and tummy lying was the main focus, it was wonderful to see the determination and hard work. Blue class explored and played with a variety of switch toys and vibrating massages to work on cause and effect skills whilst others used eye gaze technology to track objects during My Cognition. Learning was taken outside Thursday afternoon to enjoy the warmer days still, everyone went on a walk around school then played parachute games to end the day.
