📖📖 We are very lucky to have such a broad variety of books in our classroom Reading Nook. We have enjoyed group reading activities, as well as independently exploring the stories for ourselves! 📖📖

Week 2

lgravell — 2026-09-21 15:01:03 UTC

We have had a lovely week in Teal Class 😊 We have read our book Incredible You and completed activities based on the story, talking and writing about things we are incredible at and drawing our own amazing self-portraits.

We have also enjoyed exploring the Light Room in school, and using lots of new resources in there. 🚥💡🚥💡

Week 3

lgravell — 2026-09-28 12:31:42 UTC

What a busy week we have had! In Literacy, we have explored the story of The Colour Monster and we LOVED all the resources and props! This story has been great for helping us name and understand our own emotions, and we've had some lovely class discussions about how we feel!

We also worked together to create beautiful images of The Colour Monster on a large scale! This activity provided lots of opportunity for us to practise teamwork, patience and resilience. 💪

We were lucky enough to see the sun whilst on Sensory Playground, so we made the most of the warmth and explored the park equipment, before having a whole-class game of Hide & Seek!

Week 4

lgravell — 2026-10-19 09:18:40 UTC

We've had a lovely week in Teal Class! One of our highlights was definitely our special guest- Mrs the tortoise!

We were able to put all of our Science learning into practise when we looked after her, from feeding her strawberries and watermelon to giving her a massage with a toothbrush! We're a class full of amazing vets!

Week 5

lgravell — 2026-10-23 17:02:14 UTC

Week 5 brought us a new sensory story- 'There's a Rang-Tan in my Bedroom!'

This book allowed us lots of opportunities for discussions about protecting animals and rainforests, and all class adults have been SO impressed with the answers the children have given to some difficult questions.

With the story in mind, Teal Class have worked extremely hard this week to create beautiful rainforest and orangutan artwork, using a range of art mediums and collage materials.

In Maths, we have been consolidating our knowledge of numbers, whether through roleplay activities, gaming challenges or data collection around school. It has definitely been a busy week!

Week 6

lgravell — 2026-10-23 17:08:09 UTC

Week 6 brought an exciting 'first' for Teal Class- our first class trip! We journeyed all the way to Liverpool to visit the World Museum, and it definitely did not disappoint!

Linking into our Science focus of animals, we spent time exploring the models of animals and habitats, with the children commenting on the things they remembered from our school learning.

Of course we also had to visit the dinosaurs, before making our way to the Bug House and seeing all the creepy crawlies. We were all so brave (and curious)!

Each member of Teal Class made us so proud- their behaviour was wonderful and it was so nice to see their curiosity about the things around them.

We will definitely be planning more trips in the future after such an amazing experience!

Week 7 (Our last of Autumn 1!)

lgravell — 2026-10-23 17:19:10 UTC

WOW- what an amazing end to an amazing first term in Teal Class!

We fully embodied the Halloween spirit this week, incorporating spooky-themed learning into every day!

We had so much fun dressing up and decorating our classroom ready for the scary festivities, particularly enjoying making ghoulish selfies to scare the grown-ups on Parents' Evening!

We have had a lovely first term as Teal Class, and I hope everyone has a lovely week of rest.

See you in November for Autumn 2!
