Easter and its related holidays are moveable feasts, not falling on a fixed date; its date is computed based on a lunisolar calendar (solar year plus Moon phase) similar to the Hebrew calendar. The First Council of Nicaea (325) established only two rules, namely independence from the Hebrew calendar and worldwide uniformity. No details for the computation were specified; these were worked out in practice, a process that took centuries and generated a number of controversies. It has come to be the first Sunday after the ecclesiastical full moon that occurs on or soonest after 21 March.^[13] Even if calculated on the basis of the more accurate Gregorian calendar, the date of that full moon sometimes differs from that of the astronomical first full moon after the March equinox.^[14]

Toe Wrestling Championship was invented in Staffordshire, England, in 1976. It was initiated by a group of mates at the Ye Olde Royal Oak Inn. They wanted an activity where Brits could reign supreme, and toe wrestling, for some reason, became the chosen sport. The competition became a popular practice in Northern England. It consists of three rounds played with the right foot, then left and right again. Moreover, there are men's and women's Toe Wrestling Championship. 

After 40 years, toe wrestling continues to be on a map. Even though the International Olympic Committee has refused to identify it as an official Olympic sport, this sort of pastime still attracts interest from all around the world. 

The World Toe Wrestling Championships are annually held at Ashbourne Heights in Fenny Bentley, not far from Ashbourne, Derbyshire, England.

Sinterklaas, together with his assistants (Zwarte Pieten), kicks off the event with a steamboat ride along the Amstel River, disembarking at the Maritime Museum. He makes his way to Dam Square, where spectators gather for a vibrant celebration of acrobatic performances, live bands, and spiced cookies being given out by the Zwarte Pieten. This festival is especially popular with children, as they receive gifts from Sinterklaas on the final day. 

The Festival International de Ballons is held each January over 9 days and features the daily launch of dozens of hot air balloons. The festival also includes air shows, flying competitions, mini balloon demonstrations, and a big night glow event. In addition to the balloon events, the festival also offers on-site family-friendly workshops, helicopter rides, balloon flights, exhibitors, and other entertainment. 

There are two unique features of this hot air ballooning festival. First, it is one of the few hot air balloon festivals that takes place during the winter. Second, it is one of the only festivals where you can see hot air balloons fly over snow-capped mountains.

You can join most hanabi events free of charge and just bring your own sheet or blanket to sit on. However, if you don't come hours before the display starts you might not find a place to sit. This is why paid seating is available and very popular.

Some services even provide tickets to view the big festivals from the rooftops of nearby buildings. Unfortunately, all these services need booking in advance and most are only available in Japanese.

One of the highlights of the event is the World Pizza Maker Championship with contestants from more than 40 countries.

Located in Dan Sai Town in Loei Province, the Ghost Festival is quite hard to get to. It’s easiest from Udon Thani (a 3-hour bus journey) or Chiang Mai (5-hour bus journey). From Bangkok, buses leave from Mo Chit Northern Bus Terminal about 5 times a day. It’s around a 7-hour journey. As Dan Sai is a small town, accommodation gets booked up quickly, so make sure you book your hotel or guesthouse early.
