It could help explain why America celebrates martin Luther King day. another lesson children can take from this book, is valuing your siblings. the author describes how her brother, Martin was an inspiration and role model in her life. In the book, children get an understanding of what type of bug is a ladybug , where do they live around the world, how many are there, physical characteristics, what do they eat, and their four stages of development. It is the perfect to show the purpose that bugs have and how they contribute to our environment. Teachers will find this book useful during their science lessons. The book is formative but not overwhelming with information. Teachers can use this book to introduce research papers to an upper grade level. The teacher can use this as a pacing tool by introducing each chapter on at a time. For example if the students are beginning to write their research paper, the teacher will read the pages discussing “choosing a topic”.
