The reason why I took this picture is because it really shows the truth of WW2 and how absurd this war was. The boot is probably representing the damages and barbarism during the war, showing that literally nothing is left except a single boot and some ammunition.

In the movie, an entire scene takes place in St Malo. Between the shell fires, Lee Miller is able to take some pictures but she risks her life for it. It shows us how much Lee Miller was determined with her photographic work.

 I choose this picture because it’s impacting. We can notice that the woman has a lost gaze. She seems deeply sad and hurt like she’s regretting something. I think she doesn’t deserve what she went trough even if people think it is horrible because of all the things Germans have done during the Second World War.

In link with the movie, I choose this picture because I think it has impacted Lee Miller too. When she was a child, she has been raped. Maybe she could recognize herself in this gaze, maybe she has empathy towards this woman.

I felt angry that people would rather choose to die than to live in the war’s dark times. But I understand it somehow. This picture feels like the woman is finally in peace, and gets the rest she deserves.

I think this moment was really touching and strong because everyone was devastated and sad because of the fire. However, Lee stayed determined and strong and took this picture.

Matteo : I chose this picture because it shows all the horros that happened in the camps back in the day. Some of the prisonners seem happy to be freed from the war and some of them look sad because they have been locked in there for a few years. The link with the movie is that Lee and David were there in the camp at the time when the prisonners were freed from the camp which is an important part of the film.

Mickael : I chose this pictures because this photo represent the bravour of this woman being nude in bath of Hitler showing us the fight she did for show to entire world the reality of the war and a way to insult the nazisme.

This picture reminds me the pictures taken by Lee MILLER in the train with corpses.  This scene has choked to me because the last year I realised a travel in Verdun and I visit concentration camp of Stuthof.  After this travel, I didn’t think I can see this horror a new time. But the film have prouve to me that possible. The memories come back and make me sad because I had seen the violence in the reel camp. 

This photo make a contrast of the life before the war and during the war.

In this photograph, they didin’t know what happened in Europe.

This photo shocked us because they looked happy whereas in Europe there was the war. After The WW2, Lee Miller will never see the life in the same way as before. So , She realized that the moments she spent with her friends were precious.

Because of the war, she never will be the same person as before but when  the photo was taken, she didn’t know what will happened in the future.

The scene happened at the beginging of the film.

This destruction takes place at the start of the movie. Indeed at the beginning Lee Miller goes in front of buildings in ruins.

The audience that saw this picture can be shocked but they don’t even seem to be scared.They look powerless  which is even more sad and horrifying .

The man on the right side and the man in the center look like skeletons so we can suppose they were mistreated and undernourished

They also seem to sleep on mess kits and those bed don’t even look like some. They’re treated like they were animals.

This picture reminds me of the moment where she enters in the train and discover tones of dead bodies and the fact that we know how it’ll end  makes me feel bad

That were both documentary evidence and shows human suffering.

When I first saw this picture, I was attracted by it because I liked the colour contrasts and camera angle which gives an impression to be the person who's being

operated.

Now, thanks to the movie, I understand all the sacrifices Lee Millers had to do in order to be at this place at this exact moment to capture this piece of History.

I admire the way Lee does everything she can to pay tribute to people doing everything they can to help too, such as surgeons during WW2.

I choose this picture because i think it represent a very feminist message and being a woman this particularly affects me. When women were not alowed to help during the second world war, Lee shows two women with war masks to send a message that women are strong and that they can help a lot because they are brave and smart. This picture touch me a lot because even today, women are underrated in many areas.

These women we can see on the picture helped the Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS). They were called "Wrens". They had an important place in this war (WW2) so it's essential to represent them.

In the movie, it is the moment when David E. Scherman met for the first time Lee Miller. This meeting was inevitable and in was natural for both of them. It mark the beginnig of a strong and helpful friendship and work collaboration.

Every deportees are piled up on little beds who look more like shelves.

This picture makes me think ok the moment where Lee Miller entered in the camps. These two scenes are terrifying and make me uncomfortable.

Even in the war, fashion was very present and important to show yourself and also the dangerousness of the war. We can see a strong young woman, she looks like a rich woman.

I chose this picture because it's a mix of beauty and violence.

This photograph shows the panic of Lee Miller because in his face we can feel his astonishment. The scene takes place during the war. She is imprissionned and shocked by the damage of the situation. She is a determinated girl. During this reportage of for the British Vogue she can immortalise the scene's hearthbreaking through her photographs. So this photograph is very disturbing because Lee Miller has seen terrible scenes during the battles.

They don't deserve this, they are humans too. If Lee Miller takes this picture of this people it's because she want to share their lives and prove how it's mean for them.

When I saw that picture in the movie, it

hurted me and made me think about it a lot.

I found this picture interesting because of the contrast between the sun umbrella which represents the sun and the joy and the gaz mask which symbolises the war. This two signification are like opposites and it is kinda poetic.
