The colonists lost many lives, including that of the much-beloved General Richard Montgomery. Across the world, the British saw the war as an unnecessary expense and began to tax the colonists to pay back the debt from the war. The Natives also fought against Britain, trying to get their sacred land back. The Seven Years war began the long and difficult path to the American Revolution. The British saw these taxes and laws as necessary to pay off their debt. However, the colonists saw these acts as tyrannical and often protested these taxes. During one of these protests, the Boston Tea Party, the colonists dressed up as mohawk "Indians" in an attempt to deflect the blame onto the Natives instead of the colonists. These acts sparked a fire and led to our independence today.
