MDCLive shall not be offered as a modality in specific classes. These classes have the option to be offered in the MDCIn-Person- HYBRID modality. Classes affected to be determined by the discipline. If an exception is granted, due to valid circumstances, the exception should only be allowed for 1 semester and/or only students from the faculty's home campus can enroll in that section. Exceptions need to be approved by Chair, SoS Dean and Provost.

Example: BIOLOGY - BSC2010 and BSC2011 not to be offered as MDCLive.

College-wide adoption of the new modality

The new modality should be adopted college-wide for the selected science classes, and chairs should enforce it to minimize/eliminate competition with MDC Live. This also addresses the enrollment disparity issue among professors teaching MDC Live vs. in-person or blended.

Providing a classroom for both the in-person and the online components of the class can be challenging in small campuses such as Hialeah. We have been told that there are not enough classrooms available during the day.

The software used for class registration should clarify the modality of the class selected by the student. At the end of the registration process, it should also provide a summary of all the selected classes AND the modalities (one more time). Additionally, it should pop up any potential conflict, such as back-to-back classes taken on different campuses, etc.

All higher-level classes have to be offered in-person or hybrid. At least in chemistry, we don't do blended that often.
Each discipline will decide if lower-level classes will adopt the hybrid modality as well. That means, each discipline will decide if MDCLive will continue to be used as a modality at all (for that particular discipline).
Once we adopt this hybrid modality, MDCLive classes, cannot exceed 10% of all classes offered by discipline by campus.
it would be ideal, if the time block for MDCLife classes is restricted to early in the morning and/or late at night.
