For me mandatory Saturday can be a day where students do group work or individual homework. As the researcher says mandatory school help students to learn more and they could succeed well. Saturday school not only gives more time to learn but it also gives more time for each subjects. According to PISA, the mean score for each country decreases throughout 2015 to 2018. For example, in 2015 the mean score of reading for Japan is 516, but in 2018 the mean is 504. This shows that Saturday school will be a useful day for students to memories the things they learn. Also it can help them to finish the group work without letting one person do all the work. Saturday school can either finish at 12pm or 3pm so that the students can have some rest times plus the time to stay with their parents. I think for 5 days of study time is enough. Not only does the student not want to go to school on a Saturday but also neither do the teachers. If everyone is unhappy about being at school so nobody gonna learn. If student go to school on Saturday, this gives them only one day to actually rest and finish weekend homework. Having two days of at the weekend gives students time to learn other skills and spend time with their family. Israel is the only country in the developed world where children go to school six days a week. In my opinion, I believe that we shouldn't attend school on saturdays becasue it would reduce the time for teenagers to take a break and relax, normally we would only get 2 days off school each weekend which is quite less off a time to relax, by having to learn on a Saturday would reduce students resting time even more. According to ABS news it is stated that a survey shows the percentages of students feelings,35 percent of the responds were exhaustion and followed by that was disappointment with 20 percent just by adding an extra day could make the students feel even more tired. But it is also not just students who would feel even more tired, but teachers and staff members as-well more work too hand and mark, students would receive more homework which would result in even more stress.As with the pandemic happing it is blocking most of the fun activities that teens can do which is healthy for them.Having the two days break each week will benefit a lot to the students to finally have some rest and to spend time with themselves, teachers too.If we were to have the extra learning day I beleive that most of the students there will be to tired to learn on monday since sunday would be their homework day which would result with students not having rests at all.An average learning day is about 7 hours about 48 hours a week and to add another 7 hours isn't worth it since students have already learnt all the things already in the week days. Saturdays and Sundays will mostly be between a bit of learning, relaxing all day or doing your homework that needs a lot of time and energy, By having another day of school on Saturday would mean more school work even though we already have homework from 5 days worth of school, less relaxing time and being unable to do weekly activities. I don't like the idea of those at all.

I believe weekends are vital for both teachers and students. Having too much time learning, students will have less motivation and interests on the subject and this reduces the amount of knowledge that a student can get. Some might say that during the weekends, students might forget about what they learnt, but that's where homework comes in. On average, students waste around 3-5 hours a day and sometimes even more in the weekend to accomplish homework and if we have mandatory Saturdays, I'm afraid students will have completely no time for relaxing. Relaxation reduces our blood pressure, enhance our immune system and improve our mental wellbeing. Another reason why weekends are important is because of family time that comes with it. For some students, their parents have to work during the weekdays and may come back very late, this means that mandatory Saturdays will reduce the already low amount of time and is very bad for their relationship.  Sleep are also very important for both physical and mental health. According to researches, an average human needs at least 7 hours of sleep and approximately 8 or 9 hours for children. In the weekend is when students can wake up late to reduce the feeling of exhaustion that is a result of learning 5 days a week. If we reduce this opportunity of refreshment to one day, Sunday, this will lead to depression and tiredness. Not just students that will be affected, teachers will be given even more work. They need to plan classes for Saturday. This suggests that mandatory Saturday will affect both children and adults negatively. The biggest challenge would be the difference between work and rest days, as this would disrupt the current system of scheduling, and mentally and physically trouble almost all working and   studying individuals. This can create extreme depression and cause many people to give up on what they are doing, as six days a week is barely enough rest. Sure, students can fail and not study well, but there could be many other solutions, such as changing the system so that the subjects being thought are engaging and fun, or a larger variety of new subjects that introduces many new concepts to the students. What I'm suggesting is instead of extending learning to Saturday, we make the days we have, Monday to Friday, more productive overall. This leaves kids happy to do their own thing on the weekend, but also improving on their studies, making it a win for both sides. And even if there are some who are not as talented, and they require extra teachings, you can do things such as extra tuition on the weekdays. Saturday schools itself is fine for more studies, but it is best to keep that short and optional, a few hours for does who want or need it. Too long will create the sense that it is a weekday, and mandatory just pushes it to the extremes. To sum up, there are much better and efficient options for teaching children, but if really needed, Schooling on the weekend should be kept short and optional. Believe me, I have experience.

Children are spending less and less time with their parents, and they are spending less time doing self care, which is not good for our physical and mental health. And if we learn on Saturday we would spend on average of 42 hours of education which is too much for students. Award-winning, board-certified psychiatrist stated that 1 in 4 students recorded being diagnosed with mental illness, and nearly 20% of students report self injuries from the stress of school. So why would we causes more stress for the student by opening school on Saturday? More school break time would allow students to release stress and enjoy them self, it would also let students get more life experiences, for example going out with friends, learn how to travel by your self or even learn how to cook. Children are also constantly learning, it doesn't always have to be in the classroom. Especially on Saturday!!!
