By looking at the color, structure, shape or even texture, some people may feel specific emotions or feelings when observing a piece of abstract art while others may not. It depends on the thinking process and prospective of the audience members. For some viewers, the paintings meaning or intentions would seem unclear because they can't relate to such strong and differently presented feelings. Thus, how an audience sees a piece of abstract art can be different compared to others.

To some people, abstract art may be able to evoke emotion. However, this is not the case for everyone. When people don't allow themselves to feel anything, then it becomes something that they've just been told. Colors, lines and shapes all contribute to the emotions the artist wants the audience to feel.

It is often told that abstract art could evoke emotion. Which I agree with. The line, shape, texture in combination with the choice of color usage would deliver strong messages that can affect others. For example, different colors could make different impressions to people. Darker colors could make people's mind heavier, while lighter ones or brighter colors can represent happier feelings.

I think that this is true. When looking at an abstract artwork, people's minds subconsciously take in information such as line, shape and color which leave emotional impressions into viewers. Said techniques also draw on instincts of the human mind, such as knowing blue means cold and red means hot. That being said, viewers require some level of artistic appreciation to really understand truly emotionally connect to an art piece.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To some, the thought of abstract art holding meaning and having the capability is utter bs, they see only paint and random lines, while others may be struck with a profound emotion when viewing the painting and find it beautiful. It is different for everyone.

I think that abstract art can channel the emotion of the creator. However I feel that everyone who comes after is making up their own realities on what the painting is telling them. Therefore I don't think abstract painting evokes emotion but instead it channels it.
