Anton Chekhov was a Russian playwright and author. He is well known for his short stories, like "A Problem." Chekhov got his love of storytelling from his mother. While he practiced medicine, he also wrote stories. Some were even published in the New York Times.

Sasha Uskov is the protagonist. He does not feel ashamed or guilty for cashing the false promissory note. He makes excuses for himself and feels no responsibility for what he has done. He is an immature character. He might have been different had his mother not died. Now, his uncle feels like he has to get him out of situations Sasha has gotten himself into. At the end, Sasha has not changed. He realizes he is a criminal but does not change his ways.

Sasha is immature. I know he is immature because he does not take responsibility for what he has done. He always looks for someone to bail him out, and I hate that quality.
He also has no remorse for what he has done. I can't stand it when people know they have done something wrong and act like they haven't.
