Pillars of Islam
Hadith Jibril:
It is known as Hadith Jibril because at the end of the hadith Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. clarified that the questioner was Jibril A.S who came to teach the Sahabah about the religion.

Jibril asked Muhammad about Islam & He replied: Islam implies that you testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, and you establish prayer, pay Zakat, observes the fast of Ramadan, and perform pilgrimage to the (House) if you are solvent enough (to bear the expense of) the journey.

From that hadith, we know that there are 5 pillars of Islam which are:-
1. The profession of Faith (shahada)
2. Salat (prayers)
3. Pay Zakat
4. Observe Sawm (fasting) of Ramadan
5. Perform Hajj (pilgrimage) of the House,
*provided you have resources of making a journey to it.

- Believe in Allah

Hadith Jibril:
Jibril asked Muhammad & He replied, "It is to believe in Allah, His angels, His Books, His Messengers, and the Last Day and that you believe in preordainment (destiny), its bad and good consequences."

Believe In Allah:
This is the most important belief for Muslims. Allah is the Supreme Being, creator of the Universe. Without Him, nothing would exist. Recognizing Allah as the creator encourages Muslims to be thankful for the life they have been given, and to express gratitude through Prayer.

Believe In Malaikat:
Muslims are taught to respect the malaikat of Allah. When Muslims end their prayers they turn their heads to the right and left and say 'peace be upon you' to the angels. Malaikat are being created by Allah to perform various tasks, particularly governing the universe and the laws of nature. Unlike humans, angels have no free will and can only obey the commands of Allah.

Believe In Kitab:
We, as Muslims, must believe because Allah’s messages are contained in holy texts known as kutubullah, or books of Allah. These include the Sahifah (Scrolls), Tawrat (Torah), Zabur (Psalms), Injil (Gospels), and finally the Qur’an.

Muslims believe that, over the centuries, prophets have received messages from Allah. Many of these messages were recorded in ancient scripture known as kutubullah; many of which have survived and continue to be a source of guidance for billions of people today.

Belief in Rasul:
Terminologically, Rasul means a special person which was sent by Allah, given honor and guidance to invite people for the truth of life, to worship Allah as their obligation.

These are some tasks of Rasul that we must know:
1. Invite and call people to worship Allah and leave everything except Allah to worship and believe
2. Deliver the law from Allah to the people and explain the religion that revealed to the people

Not all prophets are Rasul,
But all Rusul are prophets.

Belief In Qiyamah:
Belief in the Day of Judgement reminds Muslims about their limited time on earth and the inevitable meeting with Allah, as expressed at funerals when a Muslim community comes together. The Qur’an teaches that eventually, the entire universe will end.

Belief In Qada' and Qadar:
The program that Allah made before He created the universe in pre-eternity is called qadar. His application of that program when its time is due is called qada.

Belief in qada and qadar means to believe without a doubt that Allah knows everything, that He programmed everything in pre-eternity, and that He creates things and events based on that knowledge and program when their time is due.

At the end of the usrah, there are presentations by groups 1 and 2 for roleplay.

Ihsan
Hadith Jibril:
Jibril asked Muhammad about Ihsan & He replied, "It is to worship Allah as if you are seeing Him; and although you do not see Him, He sees you."

Literally, the word Ihsan is derived from the word hasana which means to be good, to beautify. As a verbal noun, it designates the quality of being good and beautiful.

Technically, Al-Quran uses the word Ihsan and its derivatives in referring to doing what is beautiful or to making things beautiful.

Allah S.W.T. says : Allah commands justice, the doing of good ( Al-Nahl ; 16:90 )

Eschatology
Eschatology means the part of theology concerned with death, judgment, and the final destiny of the soul and of humankind.

Islamic eschatology is the aspect of Islamic theology incorporating the afterlife and the end of the world, with special emphasis in the Quran on the inevitability of resurrection, the final judgment, and the eternal division of the righteous and the wicked, which take place on the Day of Resurrection. Also known as the Day of Judgement. Multiple verses in the Quran mention the Last Judgment.

At the end of the usrah, there are presentations by groups 3 and 4 for roleplay.

Adab Towards Parents:
● Speak politely
● Pray for them
● Don’t give an excuse
● Fulfill their will
● Visit them regularly & enquire about their health
● Never compare them with the parents of others

Adab Towards Neighbors and Society:
● Treating them with respect and duty
● Loving them like family
● Respects them even though in different religions
● Helping them
● Don’t make noise in public
● Wearing clothes that make people comfortable with you

Adab As A Student:
● Be the first to greet and offer salutation of peace
● Not to speak too much in his presence
● Not to speak unless asked something by the teacher
● Not to ask questions without first seeking permission
● Not to look around, but rather to sit with good manners, eyes downcast, as though in ritual prayer
● Not to burden him [with questions] when he is tired or weary
● Not to ask him questions on the way to his home until he reaches there [and grants permission]

At the end of the usrah, there are presentations by groups 5 and 6 for roleplay.

LAST DAY OF USRAH, SEMESTER 1.

For the last class of usrah, we were asked to watch the video given in the WhatsApp group entitled ‘Titisan Suci’.

This is the last task that I get for Usrah 1. I can conclude that indeed, this video emphasizes friendship.

My first point from the video is that it demonstrates how to guide others, specifically our own friends, to the right path.

Second, it was about people's changing behaviors. For example, just because of love for humans, it can convert a good person into a hateful person.

This is because our iman determines whether we are capable of facing any hardship in life or not.

Adab In Learning Knowledge
● Don’t be shy to ask questions

● Don’t talk when the lecturer is teaching

The Prophet said: “The only reason I have been sent is to perfect good manners”.

The main purpose of seeking knowledge is
to bring us closer to our Creator Allah Almighty.

AL-QURAN AS BOOK OF GUIDANCE
● A book of wisdom, which gives us each detail of the divine scheme along with all those principles that are required for successful living on this earth.
● In short, Quran is a book of guidance for mankind.
● It is also known as a simple book, which is easily understandable to anyone who has even the most rudimentary knowledge of Arabic.

The Quran is a book of guidance, the Book of God, revealed to the Prophet of Islam in the first quarter of the seventh century. The Quran is not a mysterious blessing; it is a book of wisdom.

In the chapter entitled Sad (Sad), the Quran says of itself: "This is a blessed Book which We sent down to you [Muhammad], for people to ponder over its messages, and for those with understanding to take heed" (38:29).

At the end of the usrah, our facilitator briefs us about the usrah's activities, which are e-portfolio and roleplay.

WHY OUR IMAN IS ALWAYS BEING TESTED:
Whether Muslim or non-Muslim, we all experience difficulties in our life. There are people who suffer from poverty, people who fight with their health, and people who struggle with their families.

Why is Allah forcing me to go through this? this is a typical question that everyone wonders in the middle of a storm. Why can't everything be happy all of the time? What did I do to earn such a fate? Why does Allah put us to the test?

People can become disconnected from Allah due to a lack of answers. It can lead to troubling thoughts such as "Allah doesn't love me" or, even worse, "Allah isn't fair to me." Allah, on the other hand, is Al-Adl – The Just – and Al-Rahman – The Most Merciful. The situations He places us in have a purpose. All we have to do now is wait.

Reasons Why Allah Tests Us:

Helps to improve the quality of believers
As our sacrifice for the cause of Allah
For promoting good deeds
To increase human patience
Signs of Allah's love

The Prophet said:
“The people who face the most difficult tests are the prophets, then the righteous, then those following them in degree. A person is tried according to his religion. So if there is firmness in his religion, then the trial is increased, and if there is a weakness, then it is lightened. Verily a trial remains with a servant until he walks the earth having no sin left upon him”
(Hadith Bukhari).

This was a group project that I collaborated on with my teammates. We were able to finish it ahead of schedule. I'm overjoyed since we're getting to know one another and getting closer day after day.

WHAT I GAINED FROM USRAH (SEMESTER 1)
I got a lot of things through joining Usrah, including ones that I didn't even know about. For example, I had never heard of eschatology before, but now I can tell others about it.

In addition, as a Muslim, I received a wide range of knowledge that I needed to apply in my daily life, such as Adab toward my parents and society.

Since I first joined Usrah, I was super excited. Lastly, I hope that Usrah will be mandatory for all university students.

MY GOALS:

Receive a dean's award
Launch my own business
Become a brilliant lawyer
Purchase my own vehicles

MY FEELINGS:
Because this is my first semester as a university student, I am obviously happy. I've learned a lot of new stuff that I'm interested in. However, I do get stressed out from time to time due to assignments. It is difficult for me to do it alone because I am not proficient in The English language, but I will make an effort to enhance my skills in English.

Last but not least, I'm grateful to have wonderful friends that always support and correct me when I make mistakes. I'm hoping that they'll never get tired of me.

Niat
An Islamic concept: the intention in one's heart to do an act for the sake of Allah.

In Islam, your niat is more important than the act itself. Hence the niat determines whether one receives blessings (pahala) for one’s actions or whether one should be condemned for the (dosa or sinful) act.

As a result, we must always fix the intent in anything we do.

Amal
Any action or deed is referred to as amal. It can be good or bad. According to Islam, amal is rewarded or punished based on neeyah (intention).

For example, if I treat people nicely with the purpose of gaining their political support, my nice behavior will not be noticed in the same way as someone who treats people nicely because of fear of Allah and without expecting anything in return.

There are two categories:-
1. Wajib
2. Sunat

Allah sees all of our efforts, not just the visible ones.

Ihsan
Muslims have a responsibility to achieve perfection or excellence, in worship, such that they attempt to worship God as if they can see Him, and even if they can't, they think He is always looking over them.

Source of Hikmah from Ibadah

Surah Al-Ankabut verse 45 (29:45)

Meaning: (O Prophet), recite the Book that has been revealed to you and establish Prayer. Surely Prayer forbids indecency and evil. And Allah's remembrance is of even greater merit. Allah knows all that you do.

- This ayat prevents us from default.

Reasons of why do people pray but still make sins

not taking care of wudhu' properly
not khusyu' in prayer

Scholars claim that in this age of slander, gaining half of khusyu' is difficult.

How to be humble?

Understand the meaning of what we say in prayer
Pray in places that are quiet, clean, and free of distractions
Take good care of our appearance
Clear our minds

From what I gained:-
We must feel what we do in order to have the commitment to do it. Finally, we'll get the nikmat that no words can explain.

Reasons of why people are not khusyu' in their prayers:

No feelings
No commitment
Doesn't seem to be affected by the nikmat

In our prayers, there are ways to feel them:

Going to congregational prayers at the mosque, especially the Adams
Wearing a white robe and perfume
Coming early
Sitting at the first saf
Praying tahayatul masjid
Understanding the meaning of the reading in prayer
Feel the prayer we do is the last prayer for us

Only then, we will be able to experience the sweetness (nikmat) of worshipping.

Allah said in Surah Al-Ankabut (29:45)
Meaning: Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book, and maintain the prayer. Indeed the prayer restrains from indecent and wrongful conduct, and the remembrance of Allah is surely greater. And Allah knows whatever [deeds] you do.

Why we are still unable to leave our disobedience despite our constant prayers?

Not being sincere in prayer
Inaccurate surah reading
Not understanding the content of surah reading
Not praying sooner
Not being khusyu'
Defaulting in prayer

In Surah Al-Ma'un, Allah says: (verse 4 and 5)
Meaning: So woe to those ˹hypocrites˺ who pray, yet are unmindful of their prayers.

Finally, we must always pray to Allah to give us khusyu' in our prayers.

At the end of Usrah, there are presentations by groups 1, 2, and 3 for roleplay.

Allah says:
Indeed, man has succeeded. The most successful are the believers, whom in their prayers, they are khusyu'.

I learned about Sadaqah this week. Our facilitator showed us a video of Ustaz Ahmad Dusuki Abd Rani's Sadaqah prowess.

1. Sedekah will convert the property's value to the reward's value. (Pahala)
2. A person who provides alms in life will be blessed by Allah.
3. Someone who offers alms will be helped by Allah.

JUDGE YOUR FRIEND
How the 'judge your friend' game works:
1. At random, our facilitator will select two people.
2. They must both predict the personality of the other.
3. The person being judged will determine if her partner's guess is accurate or not.
4. We will gain points if we guess it correctly.

THE VIRTUES FOUND IN HAJJ/UMRAH
There are two things under this topic:
1. Taqwa (good consciousness)
2. Sacrifice

TAQWA

Always remembering Allah and never forgetting Him, submit to Him and never disobey Him, be grateful to Him, and do not commit transgressions.
The fear of Allah, worship, and believes in the book revealed. Content with whatever little is given and prepare oneself for the hereafter.

Al-Baqarah verse 197
The Hajj is (to be performed in) the months that are well-known. So whoever undertakes Hajj in them, there should be no obscenity, no sin, no quarrel in the Hajj. Whatever good you do, Allah will know it. Take provisions along, for the merit of (having) provision is to abstain (from begging), and fear Me, O men of understanding!

Finally, you will receive the taqwa if you perform the hajj since it is not just about strength and greatness, but also about discipline and obedience.

SACRIFICE
When we have the niyyah to perform hajj/umrah, we must make some sacrifices, such as:

Times
Energy
Money

Al-Kawthar verse 2
So pray to your Lord and offer sacrifice [to Him alone]

I'll close up this discussion with verse 37 of Surah Hajj:

It is neither their flesh nor their blood that reaches Allah, but what does reach Him is the taqwā (the sense of obedience) on your part. Thus He has made them (the animals) subjugated to you so that you proclaim Allah’s glory for the guidance He gave you. And give good news to those who are good in their deeds.

MUTABAAH
Mutabaah is Arabic for "follow-up." We studied about things that must be done repeatedly(follow-up) in this topic, such as:

Tahajjud
Congregational Subuh prayer
Dhuha
Mathurat
Tilawah
Istighfar

WHY STUDYING IS IMPORTANT?
We need knowledge in whatever we do, thus studying is necessary. Imam Shafie once said, "who wants Dun'ya needs knowledge, who wants Akhirat also needs knowledge".

Advice:
Study because you want to, not because you have to. Studying is important because knowledge is power. They won't be able to take your education away from you if you study. You're studying because you want to learn more. You should study because it will benefit you. You should study since it will help you grow.

What is your role as a student?
Student work involved more than merely studying in a room and hoping to get an A. Students have a lot of trust and obligations.

So, what should I do now?

Find out what my social roles are
Look for life's wisdom

We snap pictures together at the end of the Usrah and apologise to one another if we make an unintentional or intentional mistake. I'm broken hearted because I'll have to say goodbye to them , even though they're like sisters to me.

WHY DO WE NEED TO BE HUMBLE?
My point is by being humble, our hearts will always be calm. This is because, inside the heart of someone who is always humble, there will be peace and calmness. Because that person doesn't need to show his or her world in front of others, & also won't be bitter and jealous of someone who is taller, prettier, richer and more powerful than them. Furthermore, Allah also highlighted this point in Al-Quran.

Surah Al-A'raf 7:205:
Remember your Lord deeply, [O Prophet], in all humility and fear, without raising your voice, in mornings and evenings, & do not be one of those who are negligent.

To conclude this, if we want to find our own peace and calmness in this world, we can start by being humble.

I'm very delighted I have them as teammates since they've been so helpful and communicative. While working on this poster, we became good friends and knew about one another. We were also able to complete it before the presentation day.

To be honest, sometimes, I get stressed and lost struggling to keep going through all of this because it does not seem to be easy, But I can't turn back the clock, so I'll have to go through it anyhow. I'm sure that there is a ray of hope at the end of this journey.
