What ways do men’s and women’s bodies react differently during exercise?

Men and women’s bodies react differently during exercise for many
reasons including the fact that women require almost twice as much iron as men
do and when exercising iron is lost in sweat causing a higher risk of iron
deficiency. Men also have an abundance of testosterone hormones making it easier
to gain muscle while women have higher estrogen then testosterone levels making
muscle gain tougher to achieve. Metabolism plays a part in it as well because
men burn more calories even when sitting still then women making men lose more weight
with less exercise. The result is that women tend to increase the calories they consume to match their increased exercise calorie needs. Men, on the other hand, do not increase their

calorie intake. This results in women being much less likely than men to lose body fat in response to an exercise program

http://www.fitday.com/fitness-articles/fitness/body-building/how-womens-fitness-differs-from-mens.html

http://www.nytimes.com/health/guides/specialtopic/physical-activity/print.html

http://www.nutritionatc.hawaii.edu/HO/2010/453.htm
