         <description><![CDATA[<div>-At the end of the year Mrs. Jodi met with 8th grade ELA teachers to suggest a screenplay writing unit.<br>- Teachers felt it was important to teach, and the most effective way would be to actually produce a film for the screenplay.<br>- A lot of work would have to go into it, so it would have to wait until next year. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>- Teachers still had concerns about unit, but said they'd teach it.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; 1. Decided to hold a film festival for audience viewing.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; 2. It will take 7 weeks for the unit.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; 3. Determined sequence for instruction, helpful websites, rubrics, assessments, got cameras, planned film festival.<br>- Had to teach themselves the process of film-making.<br>- Decided to divide students into collaborative teams with different jobs.<br>- Created a Film Festival Wiki with downloadable handouts and rubrics, as well as resources.<br>- Split teams up and watched video examples for ideas.<br><br>STAGES OF PROJECT<br>1.          <title>Self -Test --Additional Instructional Strategy</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Students can make up their own tests using information they have gathered over the course of the unit.  Making a test that they can take will put the information through their brains another time as they put the information down into a test.  The repetition will help them remember.  They could also take the tests they created and trade with a partner for extra practice.  This will help prepare for assessments. </div>]]></description>
