However, soon the Ieyasu realized that the missionaries beliefs were repulsive and often disliked traditional Japanese beliefs. So, he banned all Christian beliefs so his people would focus on Japanese culture and beliefs. The Ieyasu died a few years later but the oppression still lived on for many more decades.
