Paul Bunyan would make an AMAZING super hero. Paul is capable of clearing 10 trees with one swing of an ax. With him being able to do this, it means he is very strong and muscular. "Tim-ber!" he yelled, and swung his bright steel ax his father had given him in a wide circle. There was a terrible crash and when Paul looked around, he saw he'd felled 10 white pines with a single swing". Paul was born in the woodlands of Maine. This shows that he is already experienced with taking on the "evil trees". "It seems and amazing baby was born in the state of Maine" and, "That's the story of how Paul Bunyan came to take care of himself in the Maine woods." show this. Paul hired 1,000 men to help him take on the evil trees. He knew that not all of them could be taken on alone, so he hired sidekicks. With how big forest were, he needed other logging super hero's to help him. All of this proves that Paul Bunyan would make an AMAZING super hero.

Paul Bunyan would be the best superhero out of the three. First he is huge and weighs over 500 pounds. Since he is so big he can help build building or chop trees for people. In the paragraph it says "That is when he first starts to crawl, and he weighed over five hundred pounds." . Second he has a huge axe that can be helpful. He can use his axe to protect people. In the paragraph it says "he saw he'd felled ten pines with a single swing of his axe". Third his huge pickaxe can be helpful as a superhero. Because he used his pickaxe with no problem he can dig paths and holes for people. In the text it says "He dragged pickaxe behind him on a trip realizing he was leaving a big ditch in his tracks.". In the end Paul Bunyan would be the best because how much he can help people.

Paul Bunyan would make the best super hero compared to John Henry and Sally Ann Thunder. Paul is a huge and very strong man. The amount of power he has when he swings a axe or throws a boulder is crazy. Him having so much strength lets him do many things to protect and serve. This text shows Paul's true strength " Timber he yelled as he swung the bright steel axe his father had given him in a wide circle. There was a terrible crash, and when Paul looked around he saw he'd felled ten white pines in one swing." Paul could also provide more then just protection to the people, he could also provide benefits such as collection of food, water or building materials. Due to Paul's size getting people the things they need to survive would be rather easy. The text states how Paul could benefit everyone." Paul dug a few ponds to provide drinking water for everyone." Paul is also a very good leader and knows how to keep people alive. Having these kinds of skills are very important and are just the thing a super hero needs to have. The text provided shows Paul putting these skills to use." well haul away your frozen words and store then next to the lantern flames Paul advised. The various details I have provided give many reasons why Paul Bunyan would make a great super hero.

I think Paul Bunyan would be the best superhero because he's really strong. He is also very big. He is also extremely tall, and eats a lot, and was born with a beard. My first reason is that he is extremely big and is really strong, and he is also super tall. I the text states that he weighed over 100lbs when he was 2 weeks old, and over 500lbs when he was 9 months old! "When he was only 2 weeks old he weighed more than 100lbs." " When he learned how to crawl at 9 months he weighed over 500lbs." My next reason is that he was born with a beard, ate lots of food, and was left to fend for himself as a baby. Having a baby born with a beard is so not human and seems so fake but that's what makes him scary. He also ate lots of food for breakfast which is also not human for a baby to eat pounds of food. " For breakfast every morning he ate 5 dozen eggs, ten sacks of potatoes, and half a barrel of mush. But the baby's strongest feature was his big curly black beard. My last reason is how fast he is. he is extremely fast and he also has a really cool axe. " He swung the bright steel axe that his father gave him." " Paul traveled plenty fast throughout the north woods." Those are my reasons why i think that Paul Bunyam would be the best super hero. He is fast, strong, big, tall, eats a lot, born with a beard, ect. That is why Paul Bunyam would be a great superhero.

Sally Ann Thunder would make a great superhero because of her strength, intelligence and her work ethic. Sally Ann Thunder's strength would help with lots of things when it comes to being a superhero. Sally's strength could help people by lifting things, help release people who are stuck, and can also help to defend herself. Sally's strength was illustrated when Davy Crockett states, "She was extraordinary- tall as a hickory sapling, with arms as big as a keelboat tiller's (Osborne 120). This provides an illustration of her strength by describing how big her muscles are. The second reason why Sally can be a good superhero is because of her intelligence. Sally's smarts can provide great ways to stay out of danger or get out of danger. Sally's intelligence was used when a bear stumbled into her home when she was cooking. Instead of freaking out, she asked it to dance. While he was hoping around, she put a rope around his foot to churn her butter (Osborne 122). Sally's final reason why she would be an incredible superhero is because of her work ethic. Sally's work ethic will help people improve their hard working abilities. Sally's work ethic was described when her friends and family told all her stories of how wonderful she was (Osborne 121). This illustrates why Sally Ann Thunder would be a great superhero because of her strength, intelligence, and her work ethic.

Paul Bunyan would make the best super hero compared to Sally Ann Thunder and John Henry because he is so big he would most likely be able to win any battle. Paul Bunyan would be the best super hero because he would be bigger than the other people so the other people would probably be scared by him. Paul would be able to block the bad guys and block them from going anywhere. In the story it states “When he first started to crawl, and since he weighed over five hundred pounds he caused and earthquake that shook the whole town” (Osborne 110). So that proves how big he was compared to every one else. Paul Bunyan could also drown people. Paul would have enough strength to splash so much water the people would have no choice but to float away. In “Paul Bunyan, the mightiest Logger of them All” it states “But every time he rolled over huge waves drowned all the villages along the coast.” Paul Bunyan was also a very good logger so that means he was good at swinging stuff around. Paul could swing things at the bad guys to stop them from committing their crime. It is shown that Paul is a good logger when “Timber! He yelled, and he swung the bright steel axe.” That shows he is good at swinging things and definitely would be able fight back and protect himself. For those reasons that is why Paul Bunyan would be the best super hero.

Sally Ann Thunder would be the best superhero out of all three of these tall tales because she saves people, and saves her own life by herself. Sally Ann Thunder is the best superhero because she saved a guy all on her own with no one else's help. She saved this guy from a tree. She didn't have many tools to save him with. All she used to save him was her strength, tons of rattle snakes that she formed into a rope, and the tree to tie the rope to. In this tall tales story it shows, that she is one good superhero when she says "I'll free your old coconut, but just because I want to (Osborne 120). Also, another reason she would be a great superhero is because she can save herself from bears. No one I have ever met can save themselves from any wild animal especially bears. She saved her life before being eaten by a bear. In this tall tale when the bear backed her into a corner she stopped him by saying " would you like to dance?" (Osborne 122). That got the bear to dance with her instead of eating her. The third reason she would be a superhero is because Sally tied a string to the bears ankle. This makes her a superhero because no one gets that close to a bear that they can tie a string to it's ankle. In this tall tale story it shows that Sally would be one good superhero when she "tied a string from the bear's ankle to her butter churn" (Osborne 122). The main reason a superhero can be a superhero is when they can save themselves on their own, and that is exactly what Sally Ann Thunder did.

I believe that the best superhero would be Sally Ann Thunder. She would be the best superhero because she is strong. She is smart because she knew how to get Davy Crocket out of the tree stump. Her smartness is shown when "She tied all the wriggly critters together to make a long rope" (Osborne 120). Sally ann thunder is funny to most people. All her friends think that she is funny. The passage states " had a reputation for being funny."(Osborne 121). Sally ann thunder is strong. According to the passage "sally can laugh the bark off a pine tree." (Osborne 121). The author states "i saw her crack a walnut with her front teeth." (Osborne 121). In conclusion, these are three reasons as to why i believe that sally ann thunder ann whirlwind would be a great super hero.

A big man, big beard, super strong. Well that's Paul Bunyun, He is so strong he made the Grand Canyon! Paul would be a great super-hero and here's why. One, he is super strong, and somebody very strong could save peoples lives, for example lets say a building is tipping over, someone as strong a shim could put it back up right. He is so strong that "He dragged his pickaxe behind him on the trip, not realizing he was leaving a big ditch in his tracks". (Osborne 112). That ditch is now the Grand Canyon. Only someone very strong and big could do such a thing. For further explanation Paul cut down 10 trees in one swing with little to effort, I don't know anyone who would be able to do that, do you? Paul was obviously a big guy, we are told that he was 100 pounds AS A BABY. That's wild in my opinion. For breakfast he ate "5 dozen eggs, ten stacks of potato's, and have a barrel of mush made from a whole stack of cornmeal" (Osborne 110). If Paul eats all that food and grows, he will get bigger and stronger, because potato's and eggs are good for you. If you want to be a super-hero you need to stay healthy and strong. But we this when the author says "but the baby's strongest feature was his big curly black beard." (Osborne 110). I have never heard of a baby with a beard before. You could tell Paul was extraordinary just by his beard, there's no doubt about that. In the beginning his parents tried to get rid of him! "The babies parents tried putting him in a giant cradle of the coast of main; but every time he rolled over huge waves drowned all the villagers on the coast." (Osborne 112). Obviously Paul wasn't no normal baby, but i don't think he deserved to trying to be thrown in the ocean and never come back. Only a baby so big would be able to make big waves like it tells us in the story. We see baby Paul and his huge beard as you can see, he is bigger than the trees behind him! (Osborne 11). Paul would make a amazing super hero as he was probably the strongest person ever. He could save you from that falling building we talked about. SUPER BUNYUN!!!

Have you ever thought about being a superhero? There are many characters from stories that would make a great one. Sally Ann Thunder is one of those people. M first reason is that she is stronger than most normal men in that time. Sally Ann Thunder is stronger than most people. She can get a mans head unstuck from in a tree. My first reason is stated in the text when "She reached in a bag and pulled out a bunch of rattlesnakes"(Osborne 120). Normal people can't handle them because they would get bite. My second reason is that she uses her ability for the getter good. She uses it when she pulls a mans head out of a tree. We know that she saved him because "The right-hand fork of that big tree bent just about double. Then Davy slid his head out as you please"(Osborne 120). My last reason is that she isn't afraid to do anything at all. She isn't afraid to do anything because she does things some men can't do. The passage shows this when "According to her friends, Sally could tame about anything in the world, too"(Osborne 122). Mostly all men don't know how to do that. This passage shows how she would be a good superhero if she was one. She shows how she is strong, uses her ability for the greater good, ad she isn't afraid to do anything.

He was hauled by his parents when he was a baby because he was huge. This is shown when, " That's the story of how Paul Bunyan came to take care of himself in the Maine Woods" (Osborne 112). Paul is also very protective and generous. He found a way to provide food and water for everyone. This is shown when, " He cleared the cottonwoods out of Kansas so farmers could plant wheat and oak out of Iowa so farmers could plant corn"(Osborne 112). All of this proves Paul Bunyan would be the best superhero because his strength, generosity, and can take care of himself.

Paul Bunyan would be the best superhero out of John Henry, and Sally Ann Thunder because of his size. Paul is a giant compared to any human, he could easily stomp on a crook and they'd become a pancake! Even "When he was only two weeks old, he weighed more than a hundred pounds!" (Osborne 110) Also he'd be the best choice because one swing of his axe and he could take out a whole army! He shows that he can do that when "he saw he'd fallen ten white pine with a single swing." (Osborne 112) The last reason he would be a super hero is that he helps people, like when he helped the pioneers when they needed to build houses. "So one day Paul Bunyan took a good look at those trees and decided to invent logging" (Osborne 112) So in conclusion, Paul Bunyan would be the best superhero cause of those 3 reasons.

The character that would be the best superhero would be John Henry because he beat a steam drill. The reason is no human can beat technology but John Henry beat a steam drill. The reason why is because he hammered faster than a machine without help. This is shown when" while John Henry drank his water Captain Tommy and the company man measured the holes. The steam drill had done nine feet; John Henry had drilled fourteen" (Walker 118). While digging the hole John Henrys hammer caught fire and he kept going until time blue fire is the type and it's the hotest possible type in that condition. the reason why is that normally if your hammer caches fire you would drop it. It shows that the best when he "until that Polly Ann hammer caught fire. the whole Big Bend Tunnel glowed with the blue flame of John Henry's hammer." (Walker 118). The last reason is he refused to care about $100 and new cloths but cared about showing mankind is strong. the reason this is important is that a normal person would've cared and tried hard to win but not John Henry. this is shown when he says "John Henry smiled and kissed Polly Ann "I ain't worried about money or cloths," he said. "Don't y'see sugar-a man ain't nothin' but a man and a man's got to beat the steam"" (Walker 117). this is why John Henry would make the best superhero.

Paul Bunyan would be the best super hero out of the three because he is big, strong, and helpful. Paul Bunyan was very big. He weighed 500 pounds when he was a toddler and grew a lot when he got older. This is a good thing for a super hero because you can reach high places and help people. The story says " But you can't come back home- you're just to big"(Osborne 112). This shows he was to big to stay with his family. Paul was also really strong. Being strong can help with lifting stuff. This is shown when "Paul dug a few ponds to provide drinking water for everyone. today we call those ponds the great lakes"(Osborne 113). This means He dug the great lakes by hand. Paul was also kind. Being a super hero means helping others and if you aren't kind you wont want to help people. in the text it says "He cleared cotton woods out of Kansas so farmers could plant wheat and oaks out of Iowa so farmers could plant corn"(Osborne 112). This shows that he was willing to help people. Paul Bunyan would be the best super hero because he was big, strong, and kind.

The best super hero compared to Out of all the other people would have to be John Henry. John Henry can beat a machine just with a 20 pound hammer. That means he must be very strong cause no human has beat technology like that. In the story it said the steam drill did 9 feet and John Henry did 14 there was a 5ft difference(Walker 118). John Henry kept going until he saw blue fire witch mean it was really hot. You would think that John henry would drop the hammer but he didn't and just kept pushing threw to win for his town. He didn't take the 100$ or the new clothing from his boss and just wanted to prove to everyone that humans can beat machines. So he proved that Humans like him can beat machines and shouldn't relie on machines. That is why i think that John Henry would make a great super hero.

The character that would make the best superhero would be John Henry. John Henry is a tall strong and hard working man that would make the best superhero, there is also many more reasons why John would make the best superhero. The first reason he would make a good superhero is because he's 6'0 tall, super strong and 200 pounds of all muscle. Johns height and strength could definitely benefit him because being strong and tall would help him succeed in being a superhero. "John Henry was a powerful man six-feet tall and two hundred pounds of rippling muscle" (Walker 114). Two hundred pounds of all muscle could help him lift many heavy things. The second reason John would make a good superhero is because of how hard he works and never gives up. John is the hardest worker because he could do his job all day non-stop until he is told to stop. John Henry "swung his nine pound hammer from sunup to sundown, driving a steel drill into solid rock" (Walker 114). Proving he would never take any breaks from working all day. The last reason John would make a good superhero is because of how positive thinking and polite he is. John would never take anything from anyone for any reason at all, even if he desperately needed it. When the captain said he was going to give John 100 dollars john said, "But you give that 100 dollars to Polly Ann" (Walker 118) John gave the money to her even though he really needed it. John Henry Would make the best superhero out of all three stories because of his character traits and his personality.

Out of all 3 characters from the tall tails I think John Henry would make a good superhero because he's built well, strong, kind hearted, and huge. John Henry is over all a 200 pound, 6ft tall man. He has a built structure, and he is very strong. That's usually what a superhero would look like. Most superhero's need a built body and strength like John Henry. It keeps their body built and their structure kept together when fighting crime. The passage states this when it says "John Henry was a powerful man six feet tall and two hundred pounds of rippled muscle" (Walker 114). He has a 9 pound hammer that he swings against on solid rock. His hammer could be a good weapon used against a rival since the hammer has a lot of power and fits his expectations. All superhero's need a weapon against their rivals, no weapon no saving the world right? It also prevents damage to the superhero depending on the weapon. The passage states "He swings his nine pound hammer from sunup to sundown, driving the hammer into the solid rock" (Walker 114). John Henry sings and has his own "quote" which is also something superhero's call a "catch phrase". Singing is their "cryptonight" which he can use to weaken his rival. All superhero's need an end game to finish off the enemy. John Henry's singing can weaken the rival and "save the day." Along with his quote that's just his ticket out the door. The passage states "John Henry always sang while he drove steel" (Walker 116). and "John Henry layed back against the black earth and whispered, "a man ain't nothing but a man." (Walker 118). These were some reasons why I think John Henry would be a good superhero out of all three tall tails.

Imagine, you are in trouble your foot is stuck in quick sand and you can't get it out. Out of Paul Bunyan, John Henry, and Sally Ann Thunder, John Henry would be the best super hero out of all of them and strong enough to get you out. One reason why John Henry would be the best super hero is he is a hard worker. He works using a heavy hammer probably for a good few hours. If that's not good enough proof he asks for a heavier hammer and latter dies because of working too hard. This happens when he tells his captain or boss, " don't you worry about that. Just go to town and buy me a twenty-pound hammer (Walker 116). Another reason he would be a good super hero is because he is very strong. Going back to the last reason where he pretty much said twenty pound hammer? no big deal and on top of that he beat the steam drill which is a machine that can make deep holes in the ground quickly. Then just casually in the text it states, " John Henry swung his twenty-pound hammer and drove that steel" (Walker 118). Lastly, he is just generally a good person. His captain offers him new close and some money but he declines the reward he still does the work which is nice of him. This is shown here in the text when his captain states, "If you beat that steam drill, I'll give you one hundred dollars and a new suit of close. That's mighty generous, said John Henry, but don't you worry about that."( Walker 116) Now that you see John Henry is hard working, strong, and a good person, you now know the best super hero would be him.

I feel as though Paul Bunyan could be a great superhero. My first reasoning as to why I think Paul could be a supper hero because of his size. "When he was only 2 weeks old he weighed more than a hundred pounds" (Osborne 110). Think back to the beginning of the story. It states that he was born with a beard and when he was 2 weeks old, stated his weight. Another statement made in the story was to explain how his parents had trouble sending him away. "The baby's parents tried putting him in a giant floating cradle off the coast of Maine; But every time he rolled over" (Osborne 110). My text evidence that also helped with figuring out his size was when the text said "and for breakfast he ate five dozen eggs, ten sacks of potatoes, and a half barrel of mush made from a whole sack of cornmeal" (Osborne 110). My next reason is how strong he is. This is shown when he "There was a terrible crash, and when Paul looked around he saw he'd felled ten white pines with a single swing" (Osborne 112). Another way this was shown was "He dragged his pick axe behind him on the trip, not realizing he was leaving a big ditch in his tracks. Today that ditch is called the Grand Canyon" (Osborne 112). My main evidence is that when he started the logging camp he had the requirement of having men pop six buttons off their shirt with one breath" (Osborne 112). Paul is very independent. Mainly pointing out that he was able to keep himself alive when his family sent him away. "So his parents hauled the giant toddler to a cave in the Maine woods far away from civilization and said good-bye" (Osborne 112). To explain my reasoning, when Paul's parents had him they proceeded to send him away into the woods. He was smart enough to start his own logging camp and keep himself alive. What helped me figure out why he was so independent was when the text read as "So one day Paul Bunyan took a good look at those trees and decided to invent logging" (Osborne 112). Think back to the beginning of this paragraph. I feel as though Paul Bunyan would make an amazing superhero because he has the independence, strength, and size.

Paul Bunyan would make an awesome super hero Paul can break anything in his way he even chopped down 10 pine trees in 1 swing. If he can do that he can definitely fit to be a super hero and a very strong one " timber he yelled and he swung the bright steel axe his father had given him in a wide circle. there was a terrible crash and when Paul looked around, he saw he'd felled 10 white pines in a single swing." (Osborne 112). Paul was born in the wood lands of Maine. So that shows he's already used to take on trees. It seem an amazing baby was born in the state of Maine.(Osborne 110). That's the story of Paul Bunyan grew up all alone in the woods of Maine. Paul hired more than 1000 men to help him take down the trees. He knew he couldn't do this alone so he hired sidekicks with how big the forest was.(Osborne 112). He needed people to help him with logging so all of this proves that Paul Bunyan would make an awesome super hero.

The character, which would be best at being a super hero is John Henry. John Henry wants to show how strong he was and how better he was, so he would be a great super hero. John Henry is a super strong human whos bested a steamed powered train. John Henry must be really strong if he can best a steam powered train with just a hammer then he would be a really good super hero. This is shown when "Time gasped John Henry leaning on his hammer, I need a drink of water, while John Henry drank water, captain tommy and his company measured the holes. The steam trains drill did nine feet and John Henry did 14 feet" [Walker 118]. John Henry was also well determined since he can carry a 20 pound hammer, with his strength this could make him a great super hero against bad guys. Determination is a great thing to have since it can be used to make yourself keep on going even when things get tough. This is shown when "captain tommy handed John Henry a brand new 20 pound hammer" [Walker 116]. His emotions are in a good place and for being a good man and giving determination to keep on going, before and after death. Even due he passed away he was a great man and he even gave us information before his death. Tis is shown when "As his eyes closed, John Henry lay back against the black earth and whispered " A man aint nothing but a man" [ Walker 118]. John Henry was a great man and his great determination, to bad he passed away after showing that a machine isn't better then a mans hard work.

I think that Sally Ann Thunder would be the best superhero because she already helps people. I believe that because she can do some incredible things that are mind-blowing. An example of that is that she can tie rattlesnakes together and make a long rope. That happened when a man named Davy Crockett took a nap in the woods against a tree. After his nap, his head was stuck inside the tree. Then, Sally walked by and she took out a bunch of rattlesnakes from her bag and helped him out. To better support my reason, the story states that she ''reached in her bag and took out a bunch of rattlesnakes''(Osborne120).
Another reason that I think that she would be the best superhero is how popular she his with other people. I say that because many people say that they know who she is. Some people say that she can do some crazy things like crack a walnut with her front teeth or ride a panther bareback. To better understand that, the text says some things like ''Oh, I know Sally,'' or Sally's a good ole friend of mine''(Osborne121). My final reason of why Sally would make out to be a better superhero is that Sally react in a way that others cannot. What I mean by that is that Sally can react in a smart and rational way towards certain situations. To better explain that, here's an example. While she was cooking, a Great King Bear came in her house. Instead of being scared, she asks the bear to dance. While they dance, she ''ties a string around his leg, and he churns her butter for her''(Osborne122). After better explaining my reasons behind my answer, it should be easier to realize that Sally Ann Thunder would turn out to be a very helpful and smart-thinking superhero.
