Dicks parents also said that Perry encouraged Dick to begin writing false checks. The gun Dick used to kill the Clutters was purchased on credit and it was under his parents name.(pg 103. 10) His parents were very nice and honest people so nobody really wanted to prosecute Dick out of respect for his parents.
