Connor is a 14 year old boy and his mother has cancer, and his father and mother are divorced. He gets made fun of at school, but a girl Lily sticks up for him.

The monster told Connor that story, because the monster wanted to show Connor that people aren't always as bad as they seem. This connects to Connor because Connor thinks that his grandma is very mean and evil, but the monster told him a story about how the queen didn't do the evil act, and how she wasn't as evil as she seemed, which connects to his grandma. The reason he may want Connor to trust his grandmother, is because his mom is going to die, and she will be all he has. The monster wanted Connor to realize also that just because people do one thing to upset him, doesn't make them evil. Also he told him that story to show him that people who didn't do anything wrong, don't deserve to be punished.

Grandma's reaction

Connor's grandma reacted the way she did because she had a speacial connection to her stuff and it hurt her that that stuff was destroyed. I think she started screaming, because she had things from her mother, and it was a memory of her, and Connor had destroyed all of it. Also she may have screamed and groaned because she may have also had the monster encounter, when she was young so she knows what it is like, and that may be why she didn't punish him right in that instant.Connor was just as suprised that he did it. She at first was quiet taking it all in, and I think she did that because she wanted to gather her thoughts in her head before she reacted to the mess. She then screamed because she was already loosing her daughter, and maybe she was worried about loosing Connor also.

Prediction of Fourth Tale

I predict that the fourth tale is about how to move on after being hurt. Since Connors mother is on her death bed, I think that he is going to share that pain. I think he is also going to share what his nightmare is about. I predict that he will share his nightmare because he is living it right now and that he knows there is no escape. I predict that his nightmare is his mom dying, and him being left alone, with no one to care for him, or be there for him.

The first tale related to Connor because he was like the prince and he was trying to get away from his grandma. He thought his grandma was evil. Connor was like the prince, because he was willing to do anything to make his mother see how much he didn't like her. Also his grandma is like the queen, because she was evil in Connor's eyes, but she didn't do anything wrong like the queen in the story. The second Tale was connected to Connor because his mother ended up getting medicine from the yew tree. Like the daughter, the yew medicine also didn't save her. The monster may have told him this tale to prepare connor for what is to come. Connor learned from this tale that believing is half of healing, which came into the story later. The third tale connected with Connor because he was invisible to the other kids in his grade, and no one ever looked at him or talked to him excepet Harry and his friends. But when the monster beat Harry up, and everyone saw him, then he became more invisible than before. Everyone stopped talking to him, and people started avoiding him. So by making himself be seen, he made himself more invisible.
