         <description><![CDATA[<div>My brother was immediately sent to the hospital for the game for X-rays and surgery. Three pins were place in his wrist. Two were later removed but one remains permanently.&nbsp; Although it was towards the end of the season, he was not permitted to practice or hold a stick until the wrist was fully healed after about 6 weeks and another few weeks of physical therapy.&nbsp; he suffered from loss of grip strength when he first returned to play</div>]]></description>

By using the material learned in class and the quizlets given, I am now able to analyze the mechanism of the injury. It was caused by violent valgus force pulling the arm away from the body as the gymnast accelerated on the down swing of during the execution of this skill. </div>]]></description>
