Thursday 26th September: 2.5 hours teaching RNA extraction and handling from mammalian cells general mood: I got better at this

Tuesday 1st of October 5 hours teaching restriction and ligation of nucleic acids and demonstrating bacterial genetic modification to the students. General mood: The environment of social constructivism between students is really helping them develop and solve problems. I've bee able to include more theory based on their practical skills

Tuesday 8th of October 2.5 hours teaching SDS page and western blot. There's a bucketload of theory and I think I was able to engage with students on it. They were super eager to learn.

These were two of the learning outcomes written for a level 7 biology workshop that I have given. Objective 1 relates closely to the discussion of the challenges inherent to using verbs. My aim was that as the workshop listed three discreet challenges the students would identify all three and understand the theoretical underpinnings of each challenge and it’s solutions.

LO2 uses my ongoing efforts to make all of my teaching relevant to industry and job prospects by educating students about how the task will evolve when it goes from a set of theoretical underpinnings to a real job if they pursued this field.
