2.      Please take out any old papers from the take home pocket. They are taking up space in your child’s binder.

3.      If your child received name handwriting sheets, please have them practice at home. We have many that are not forming their letters correctly and a small amount that do not know how to spell their name at all. Please help me work on this with your child.

4.      I will work on sending a small handwriting packet for your child to do for homework starting next week (not everyone will receive one). Again, please help me help your child by working with them at home as well. 

5.      I will attach a handwriting formation sheet to use at home with your child. It is very helpful and I highly suggest using it!

6.      I have begun assessing letters and sounds with your child. Please look for a letter home letting you know how they did and if they need to work on anything. Your child must know their letters in uppercase and lower case form as well as the sound associated with it. In order to get credit for the sound, your child must know the correct sound and a word associated with that sound. If you need clarification, please contact me.

7.      I am starting to see some behavioral issues with students not listening on the carpet and playing around at their seat instead of working. We are a work in progress but please talk to them as well about talking and playing at appropriate times.
