Logos, Pathos, Ethos (Aristotle's 3 modes of persuasion):
- Each mode 'invokes a different appeal between speaker and audience'
         - Ethos: ethics+values of the speaker
         - Pathos: elicits emotion within the audience
         - Logos: using evidence and facts allows logic to be applied
- Using all 3 really makes a difference for a persuasive advertisement
- Ethos
         - Highlights credibility, convinces the audience that the advertiser is reliable and ethical 
- Pathos
         - Convinces the audience through emotions, appeals to memory, senses, nostalgia, shared experience, pulls at heartstrings
- Logos
         - Convinces the audience with logic and reason, statistics, facts, charts, graphs, makes an advertisement seem more reasonable to agree with

            - Present things in a simple manner
          - Should work well with the words, and placement etc
- Make sure a call to action is clear and can be easy to do once the audience has seen the advertisement

My collage ad campaign was influenced by the idea of the world's continuous global warming issues and pollution. By making a tree out of things that end up in the landfill or increase carbon emissions when being produced, this 'ad' represents the idea that the nature in our world could disappear. The message 'Our New Normal?' speaks to the audience by saying that it's going to be everyone's reality no matter who you are, and that it will impact us all. The question mark inspires an uneasy feeling that a trash covered world could become the reality if we aren't careful and don't take action. From that, I realised that we acknowledge taking a shower with the feeling of being clean afterwards. However, no matter how hard you try, you can not cleanse your mind from the nasty words that you receive or see from others on social media. You will always carry the weight of these words and messages  because they are a part of you. A part of how you view yourself, treat others, view life, and carry yourself. This concept, mixed with the popularity of Olivia Rodrigo's album/album cover inspired me to create a 3 image ad campaign of individuals in the places that you associate with getting clean, but being covered in the words that they carry.
