I walked through Bayshore Marina, located right off a busy Main Street. It’s a lovely contrast between the buzzing streets and the serenity of nature. Since it was a Sunday, not many people were out—mostly families and those getting ready to head out on their boats. In Long Island, especially in waterfront towns, it's very popular to have a boat docked here. There was also a party boat nearby, which added a bit of noise to the atmosphere.

I went on this walk with my friends right after work at around 4:50 PM. There were three of us, which was perfect for the sidewalk space, and we often stopped to take pictures of the boats out on the water.

Bayshore Marina is a popular destination, but it stands out from other marinas on the island due to its size. It features a spacious waterpark, a park, and a basketball court, making it the perfect family spot in the summer. While fewer visitors come during the colder months, I still appreciate the marina for its calming scenery year-round.

This area is accessible to everyone, regardless of which part of the island they come from. The only restriction pertains to parking, as visitors are required to pay for parking. Some individuals address this issue by parking forward to avoid additional fees.

I took a walk at 4:50 PM with two of my friends right after work. I was wearing my work clothes, which included a long-sleeve shirt, pants, and a vest. It was a lovely day, and I wasn't too cold at all. As soon as I stepped out of my car, I could smell the tide, which reminded me of high school since my school was right by the water.

The marina was quiet, as families typically don’t visit after summer ends. I noticed there weren’t as many seagulls as usual. During our walk, we kept hearing a strange buzzing sound that made us a bit nervous. It turned out that they had recently placed fake owl statues around the marina to scare the seagulls away.

During my walk, I was with two friends, and we maintained a steady pace, knowing we were on a tight schedule. We aimed for a quick 15-minute stroll since I had to head straight to choreograph right afterward. As we walked, we laughed and caught up, enjoying each other’s company since it had been a while since we hung out as a group. I stayed in the middle so I could record our conversation. The pathway was wide enough for all of us to walk together comfortably. Although we intended to leave relatively soon, we made sure to appreciate the scenery as we walked quickly.

It was fairly quiet, except for the music from the party boat. Most people walked in pairs, and some took a moment for themselves on the memorial benches. Many had their pets with them, and if one group was moving faster than another on the pathway, they would simply step aside to respect everyone’s pace. Some people were fishing, while families enjoyed the playground, swinging their children. Others relaxed in their cars, taking in the marina views. There were no issues walking around the marina, as everyone was engaged in different activities yet shared a common respect for each other.

A connection my walk and my life had made would be my love for music. During my walk I had the realization that I listen to a band named "The Marias", that I believed for years to be named "The Marina's" because of the cover art of one of their most popular songs!
