Rising temperatures turning major sea turtle population female https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/01/180111101408.htm

Sea turtles in general are one of the oldest aquatic life species, and a large one too. They have been adapting and changing to their changing environments throughout the century's, as the climate really alters the evolution of the sea turtle. A particular study of the Green sea turtle in the northern Great Barrier Reef goes into deep detail. Warm temperatures are rising at the Australian residence, causing a spike in female turtles. A study comparing the sex ratio of a cooler southern nesting area to warmer northern areas showed that the cooler areas had a 65% to 69% female population, while the warmer areas had 99.1% female population! Now it is always good in any species to have an abundant amount of females as it makes for a good reproduction rate, but with the scary low numbers of males it makes them endangered! The turtles are on the Endangered Species List.

Philippines Mayon Volcano Explodes Violent Eruption Imminent https://www.livescience.com/61487-mayon-volcano-imminent-eruption.html

On January 22nd around noon, the 8,077 feet Mayon volcano above the Albay Gulf came to life, wiping out the Albay villages below it. It has been preparing for a couple of weeks not, shakes here and there so the population had time to flee. The Philippines government raised the hazard level from 3 to 4 , and gave the danger zone an 8 kilometer radius. The cool thing though was that the lava that was spewed actually repaired the previous damage of other erruptions from years past, recreating the cone shape that was intended on the volcano.

Trump and his people want to open up all US coastal oceans to oil pumping and drilling, as it would give the oil companies more than a billion acres of space to find their product. However, this is not going by the states governers. Almost all states up along the east and west coast are opposing this preposition. Other presidents have different opinions on this, as the Gulf of Mexico has been having open drilling for many years now, as George Bush was the first one to open up new areas for drilling.

Air pollution can be more dangerous and more common than we think. Not only is it dangerous to out physical health, but turns out to our mental health as well. A test was done on changes in wind direction in Chicago and Los Angeles, and this tests results implied that air pollution increased criminal behaviors. Another test done took nine years of data in 10,000 cities across the US and focused on the air pollution effect on certain behaviors and actions. The factors were murder, robbery, aggravated assault, and burglary. There results showed that high levels of air pollution were linked to increases of murder, robbery, aggravated assault and burglary. The next test was ran in different countries of different polluted areas to examine the different behaviors, so they studied India and the US.

The Great lakes is a place where people go to enjoy vacations and enjoy its grasp of natures beauty. Holding 20% of the Earths surface fresh water, it is truly extraordinary. However, an inbalance of species has been occuring, setting the ecosystem and food webs out of control. There are approximately 200 non native species new to the lakes, examples like alewives, sea lampreys, and zebra mussels and these have all caused damage to the food webs. There are also runoff issues that are bringing toxic matter into the waters. Scientists are coming up with new ways to help this ecosystem, and get some old key stone species back on track with their original home.

Ethiopia is the worlds largest coffee producer. However, with the recent temperatures raising in the nation over the years, this could cause a danger to the crops and overall the amount and quality of the coffee beans. When the temperature is cooler, the beans are able to slowly ripen, taking more time to gradually gain that flavor and certain details. However in warmer temperatures, the beans ripen quickly and giving it not its usual intense flavor that coffee drinkers love. This also can be a big danger to Ethiopia and its economy. The coffee industry brings in lots of income for the nation, and not to mention that 16% of the population works in the coffee grinding business
