         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>-As William remained the Duke of Normandy after becoming King of England in December of 1066, international relations and trade with France blossomed.</p><p>-As the Vikings went into decline and the Normans had extensive contacts across Europe, trade with the continent increased dramatically.</p></li><li><p>England traded with France, London, Southampton, Scandinavia and Nottingham.</p></li><li><p>English wool were exported to Flanders and wine was imported from france</p></li><li><p>The largest economic change was the introduction of the feudal system. William rewarded his closest supporters with large areas of land to manage on his behalf. This is often referred as the feudal system.
