The different colourful flowers symbolize the different students with the different profiles and needs. The insects represent different influencing forces surrounding the students (parents, friends, internet, enrichment activities, experiential learning activities) that will have positive or negative impacts on the students’ well-being. When all these living things (flowers and insects) come together, it represents a beautiful and vibrant eco-environment that co-exist in harmony.

The gardener represents the teacher that nurture any flowers that come under her care. The weather represents the VACU (Volatile, Ambiguous, Complex and Uncertain) world that we are in. Believing that all flowers can blossom and be in the best form given the right setting (although some flowers may take a longer time to bloom), the gardener strives to provide a conducive and safe environment for the flowers to grow. The gardener also will use different technologies and different gardening tools (appropriate curriculum and pedagogies) to help all the flowers to be in the best form. For example, the gardener will build a firm supporting structure for morning glory to climb and put the sunflower outdoor to receive the wonderful sunlight. (DI in action)
