Hedy was born on November 9 in 1914. She was the inventor of the encryption system for naval torpedoes that eventually became the foundation of the Bluetooth and WiFi technology that we use today. To me, seems incredible that a beatiful wowan that was even a succesful actress did that invention, because it goes agaist the typical estereotype of great beauty but small brain society had of women that time, and even today.

Hedy's life was full of love drama, she even had to escape from her husband to be able to act, so she did it and make it to Hollywood, her greatest success was as Delilah in Samson and Delilah. Her biggest invention was possible when, during the Second World War, she put aside his acting career and decide to help the United States by inventing a radio signal that would jump from frequency to frequency so that missiles could not be tracked or blocked for the enemy.

By: Stephanie Ramirez Arredondo.

Marie Curie, the mother of modern physics, Marie Curie was born in Marie Salomea Skłodowska on November 7, 1867, and died on July 4, 1934, in Passy, France. In 1891, after having the French name Marie, she enrolled at the University of Paris where she studied physics, chemistry, and mathematics. In 1894, Marie met Pierre Curie, a French physicist, a pioneer in the study of radioactivity,.

After their marriage, the couple dedicated their lives to research. Their investigations earned them two Nobel Prizes: one in Physics in 1903, shared with her husband Pierre, making her the first woman to receive this accolade, and another in Chemistry in 1911. Due to radioactive contamination, Marie Curie's works are stored in lead-lined boxes and can only be accessed while wearing special suits. Her body was laid to rest in a coffin sealed with an inch of lead to shield it from radiation. Finally, Marie Curie is the most famous scientist in history and the first woman ever to receive a Nobel Prize.

By: Camilo Correa

Inventor, American scientistand businessman, Tesla’s number one rival in the field of electric power, but also involved in mass communication and recording of sound and movies, clearly we are talking about Thomas Edison; born on February 11, 1847 and died on October 18, 1931. Among his inventions we can highlight for his of course the bulb, the Edison effect, the phonograph, the power plant, kinetoscope and kinetoscope; as well as being one of the first inventors to apply the principles of mass production and teamwork on a large scale.

As a result, one of the best electrical engineers to date, a true example of competitiveness and a man dedicated to human service

By: Sara Vasquez Barrientos

In the century XVII was a man who not only bring a lot of ideas and concepts in the scientific revolution, also, Isaac Newton bring the understanding of the behaviour of the light, the movement of the planets and finally the universal law of the gravity. Nevertheless, there are an information about Isaac Newton recently discovered in 1930 about his intense passion and care in alchemy. In fact, there are a lot of papers wrote by Isaac Newton where he investigates the bible texts, the permutation and transformation of metals moreover the apoteosis of the man itself.

In conclusion, Isaac Newton was a brilliant man, a person capable of manipulated the most complicated concepts of mathematics and physics, in fact, capable of develop the differential calculus by himself. On the other hand, Isaac Newton was concern about the meaning of the life, he was very concern about the meaning of his discoveries. In my opinion, Isaac Newton is the most interesting scientist who ever lived, because not only contributed for the understanding of the reality, moreover the meaning of the life.

by: Juan David Mesa Giraldo

He was born in London in September 1791. Chemist and physicist.

He developed experiments in electricity and magnetism.

The greatest experimenter that ever lived

He tackled some chemical challenges, he discovered two new chlorides of carbon and liquefied some gases, he isolated benzene. He introduced the Faraday’s law of electrolysis,

He introduced the idea that electricity is one of the many manifestations of the forces of nature, like heat or magnetism.

In his experiments he realized that a magnetic field can induce an electric current in a wire and that is how he demonstrated the induction principle.

After that he discovered that the electric current induced in the wire depends on the number of lines of force that cut the wire, this made possible to create the dynamo which is a generator capable of producing electricity from movement.

Some of his discoveries were rejected by his poor knowledge in mathematics, but James Maxwell accepted this concept and created the modern field theory.

We can say that Michael Faraday was a person that shaped the world as we know it now with his inventions.

By: Andrés Ayala
