Some goals are for a company to retain more employees, higher productivity, and for customers to be highly satisfied. New employees should help a company grow not hurt them. Using the wrong on boarding techniques can severely hurt a company or it can highly increase a companies bottom line. Losing employees who do not fit within a company is an ok loss however losing good employees because of bad onboarding is a loss that can be prevented.

If the situation does call for you to get involved, choice your words and manner wisely. Emotions will obviously be at a much higher level, stay fair with a level head.

All conflict can be used as a learning tool if viewed correctly. A lot of conflicts are cause because a situation is not viewed correctly. Finding the hidden upside can lead to new thoughts about a situation. For example, there was a conflict where one employee accused the other of being a racist. A conflict ensued that led to management getting involved. Through conversation it was just.a misunderstanding and now the two employees work great as a team. Do not waste a conflict without finding the hidden learning tool.

Communication is an essential learning artifact because it is the basis of all things business as well as what can cause or stop conflicts. Keeping everyone informed with good information can severely limit the amounts of conflict because no one is surprised by information they hear. Not knowing what is going on within the company can put people on edge which is a mixing pot for conflict. Also, when information is not transparent, the rumor mill starts to turn, leading to misinformation being leaked throughout the company. When this happens conflict is bound to happen.
