The Arts are a fond subject for many people - myself included, and this new surge of Actors and Actresses alike are now facing cutbacks on funding their bold dreams.
This lack of funding means that in many schools Drama and Performing Arts are being forced to be withdrawn from within the curriculum due to the lack of money in public , and in private schools. Not only does Drama boost confidence, but it is a way of escaping the harsh world for many , and is often found as a safe place for theater kids alike across the world.

Drama and performing takes place across the world and is found in many different forms in many different cultures. in the UK performing to an audience is a wide form of entertainment and can take form in a film,a Play, Musical or a Concert. these Performances are now found more widely across the World, however, many Countries still keep within the traditional aspects of Theatre and re-tell their folk tales with song and dance. this is often found in rural areas and can still be found in some places across the UK.

In Shakespearean times in the UK , men often played women as it was still believed that men are better than women and were still seen to be housewives and child-baring. this inequality was found among the theatre a only the rich were able to afford a seat within the theatre with the poor only able to afford to stand within the theatre , or the poorer stood outside the theatre and listened to the performances.

why is theatre funding decreasing

Many believe that theatre and performing are a 'wasted ' subject in schools and colleges, as it isn't seen as an academic subject it therefor receives the least amount of funding. as a result of this, places in drama college and universities have became more and more expensive with the student often getting little or no help at all in regards to economic issues. this lack of actors is taking an affect in our enjoyment as films are being created more and theatre performances becoming lesser and lesser even leading to the closure of many leading theatre within and around the UK.
