This year our school has had a focus on Mindfulness. After receiving some background knowledge through an in-service as well as being a part of of our Mindfulness Committee, I liked this article. In our classroom we use Zen Den, relaxing music, and Glitter Jars. Unknown to us all of our students may be carrying a lot of "baggage" into our classrooms and practicing Mindfulness is a great way to help them cope, take a deep breath, and be in a safe and calm environment that helps them focus and be ready to learn.

I've really liked this podcast because she gives simple tips that can change the way you structure your classes or approach creating lessons. She believes strongly in using the time that you have well, rather than working a ton of extra hours to do big projects. I thought that mindset fit well with the theme of this course.

I checked into mindfulness videos, students that face trauma videos trying to find some strategies. I came across this video that I feel could be tweaked to make it more appropriate for elementary school. This seemed to be geared more towards middle/high school.
