But there aren't any documents which prove that Pusterla people lived here. It was the Earl Stefano Gaetano Crivelli  the  costumer of the works, that trasformed the building into a villa, drew by the architect Francesco Croce. In the second half of the 18th century Luigi Castiglioni, important figure in the Lombard Enlightened culture, lived here. In 1797 the villa became the headquarter of Napoleon. In the following years the villa was sold to many people. On February 11 1865, the property passed to the province of Milan, which allocated it to the psychiatric hospital. At the beginning, arrived the quietest patients; but over the years, the patients incresed and the hospital was expanded. They made differents jobs according to the ergotherapy. From 1911 to 1930, doctor Antonini became the director and brought improvements. 
The most common deseases were sifilide, pellagra and dementia. A lot of the hospitalization were caused by alcholism.
In 1915, were hospitalized severals soldiers of the First World War. The therapies thet were used were lobotomy, electroshock and insulina injections.
