A performer with a high percentage of this muscle fibre would be Mo Farah. This muscle type would be suitable for this performer as it has a large number of mitochondria which would increase his aerobic capacity, helping him to run for longer. Another reason this muscle type is suitable is that it has also has a small fibre size so less oxygen is needed to make the muscles work so therefore is more resistant to fatigue. During Mo Farah's event, the 10,000m, he will use Type 1 muscle fibre types at the end of the race as he will not be fatigued and will be able to do a sprint finish due to the high aerobic capacity of his muscles. Therefore, allowing him to win the race.

A performer with a high percentage of this muscle fibre would be Michael Phelps. This muscle type would be suitable for this performer as they have a high amount of glycogen stores which allows the athlete to perform anaerobically as they can use up their glycogen stores when working anaerobically, allowing them to work anaerobically for longer. Another reason this muscle type would be suitable for this performer would be it has a large fibre size which allows the muscle to have a fast contraction speed and a high force of contraction which means that the performer can generate a lot of power and force the blood into his muscles faster. During a swimming race, Michael Phelps would use this muscle fibre to gain an early advantage in the swimming race by using a large force in a small amount of time and propelling himself forwards off the wall. This would allow him to gain an advantage and win the race.

A performer with a high percentage of this muscle fibre would be a weightlifter. This muscle type would be suitable for this performer as they have the highest anaerobic capacity which means that they can work at a high intensity for longer periods of time. Also, this muscle type would be suitable as it has high glycogen stores which means that the muscles can work anaerobically easily as they have lots of an alternative energy store to use up. The performer will use this muscle fibre when performing a deadlift as they will generate large amounts of power to lift the weight, due to the muscle having the highest force of concentration and the fastest speed of concentration. The weightlifter will then have to work anaerobically in order to hold the weight for 3 seconds before dropping it.
