“The Power of Interdependence and Decentralization” explores the ways in which individuals and collectives connect and work together on a deep level. In Holding Change, author Adrienne Maree Brown emphasizes the importance of decentralized decision-making and interdependence as a model for enhancing group resilience and creativity. She invokes the metaphor of “fractals” to illustrate how individual behaviors reflect and influence the health and functioning of the whole. Decentralization is not about giving up authority, but rather redistributing power so that everyone has the opportunity to participate, resulting in more inclusive and sustainable structures.

Through the exhibition, we will explore how decentralization inspires creativity and demonstrates the essential power of interdependence. Through artwork, images, and interactive experiences, visitors will understand how mutual support and collaboration in diverse communities can lead to holistic growth and change.

After participating in this exhibit, I hope that viewers will recognize that each of us is part of a larger network. The exhibit demonstrates the power of collaboration, sharing, and decentralized decision-making, reflecting on how we find strength by supporting others in the midst of social change. As curator, I hope to stimulate reflection among viewers: how do we practice interdependence in our own lives or communities? And how does this practice help us face uncertainty and challenges?

Interdependence does not mean dependence, but finding strength through mutual support; decentralization does not mean disorder, but giving every voice a chance to shape the future. Through the exhibition, I expect visitors to gain a deeper understanding of this concept and bring it into their own life practices.
