It wasn't until not too long ago when women started to stand up for their rights and group together. A few women who did so were Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. These two women decided to host a convention in New York, called the Seneca Falls Convention. The main goal of this event was equality before the law, rights in the workplace, and access to education. Two other women who wanted a change in women's rights were Susan B. Anthony and Lucy Stone. Finally progress was being made, New York passed laws allowing women to keep property and wages. Massachusetts and Indiana passed more liberal divorce laws. Unfortunately, it was not only until 1920 when women had the right to vote.
