Brother Printer prints more quality texts and graphics than Canon Printer.
But if you search a cheaper and more versatile printer then go for the Canon.
Also the Brother printer is lighter and noisier than Canon printer.
Canon printer allows you print directly from your digital camera with a technology call PictBridge.

If you don´t mind about the price and need a fast print go for the Brother but if you search a cheap and basic printer then buy the Canon.

Both printers are very good though depending the use that you are going to give it I recommend you one or another one.
On the one hand, if you want to make photos and have them in the same moment, I recommend you to buy the Canon Compact Photo Printer SELPHY CP750 Photo Printer due to this inkjet photo printer can print directly from digital cameras,memory cards or camera photos.
For the other hand, if you want print at home or in your job i recommend you to buy the Brother HL Network Colour Laser Printer, because yhis printer has an awesome resolution, a high print speed and it is compatibility with PCL and PostScript languages.

Firstly, I'd need to know what you're going to use your printer for. 

If you are going to use it to print photos the I'd recommend the Canon SELPHY as it allows you to directly print from your digital cameras, memory cards or camera phones. It's also very small and light, so if you don't have much space, then it's the way to go. 

However, if you need your computer to print many text documents then you should consider buying the Brother HL as it offers a printing speed of up to 31 pages per minute, a big tray capacity and 64MB memory size. The size of the printer might be a problem, but otherwise it's a great choice.

It depends on what do you want to print.If you're going to print images the Canon Compact Photo Printer SELPHY CP750 is better than the Brother HL Network Colour Laser Printer because is lighter and you can print directly from digital cameras,memory cards or camera phones without connecting a PC. 
If you want a perfect balance of quality and high print speed (31 ppm) mono and 8ppm colour(A4), the Brother one is better.Its paper tray capacity is 250 sheets. 
 
As we said it depends on your needs.
