In this case it is authority suppressing authority. In Florida the effects of climate change are seen with the naked eye. the Governor of Florida at the time, Rick Scott, actually banned the use of the term "Climate Change" in hopes to stifle the scientific community and those that might listen and learn about climate change. This was done to help push Climate Change denial and misinformation. https://www.miamiherald.com/news/state/florida/article12983720.html

I chose the Flat Earth theory. https://youtu.be/OmM5NOq7ZF8

Define Claim: The Earth is Flat.

Gather Information: The Video attached tries to show proof the the earth is flat by a boy pouring water over a lemon and it all runs off. The boy then tries the experiment on a plate. The water does not run off, proving the theory the earth is flat: if it was not, all the water on the planet would fall off.

Evaluate the Evidence: This person is not known in any scientific field and is resorting to a plate and lemon as tools of measurement to is experiment. People have been traveling the globe for hundreds of yeas, never has the edge been discovered. A large portion of mathematical theory has been evolved from the fact the earth is round. Time and light on the earth is effected by the suns curvature. This person is looking for anything to believe his theory that he ignores gravity altogether.

Recognize Assumptions, Emotions, and Biases: This person assumes because the water falls off a round shape like lemon, therefore how could water not fall off a round earth. He also assumes because a plate is flat and holds water, the earth must also be flat. Not being able to comprehend things beyond the human eye creates an emotion of fear and misunderstanding. Most Flat Earthers' believe, because they see an edge on the horizon, that means the earth is flat. Using a lemon and a plate without taking into fact scale and gravity, shows this boys biases in wanting to believe the Earth is flat.

Synthesize Evidence, Identify Alternatives:
Possible Solution 1: Because the water on the planet doesn't fall off, the Earth must be flat.
Possible Solution 2: Time, gravity, measurement, are based on the earth being round. No one throughout history of traveling the earth has reported seeing the edge. Astronauts have never reported the earths edge and use the curvature to help propel space craft so less fuel is used.

Best Alternative:
I conclude the earth is round based on all the evidence proving the earth is round.
