They wanted in Slovakia only Orthodox faith. From these times we have a few well-known saint people, like Pavol Peter Gojdič (the youngest Slovak bishop), Vasiľ Hopko (bishop) and Dominic Method Trčka (monk). They were for a long time in a prison, where they died. They have a lot of churches around all the republic. In our region is the best known cathedral St. Elizabeth in Košice. This cathedral is from 14th century. Despite that fact, this church is 2nd the biggest in Slovakia. They have the most of believers on eastern Slovakia.
