1. What do these excerpts indicate about the importance of evidence?
"These excerpts indicate that evidence is important because of what happens to the defendant. The person who wants to bring an accusation has to show evidence, since neither any law or equity allows the power to inspect and check the documents of the other side. If the plaintiff (the person making the complaint), doesn't prove his claim, the defendant is discharged".
2. What does the second excerpt show about the burden of proof when one person accuses another?
"It shows that proof can determine another person's outcome by showing examples, why, and how based upon proof".
3. Do these two rules seem fair and reasonable? Explain why you would agree or disagree with these rules?
"I agree with these rules because they show that evidence needs to be shown and is used to judge someone's else case. This is reasonable and if it isn't proven then the defendant may be discharged".

Simply doing further research into Justinian Code of Laws and you will see that it has much similarities to that of our system of laws here in the United States. The Justinian Code could have had it's philosophical impact on our government and it's ways of ruling us. Possibly comparing and contrasting some laws here in our country with the quotes that I have provided in the "Justinian Code Examples" column will help find that impact. From the concept of freedom to justice, it surely seems indistinguishable from our idea of freedom and justice.
