They were very religious people pursuing their religious life style, it was something they couldn't do in England so they left. They left 1603 heading towards America and arrived days later.  Life for the Puritans was hard since they didn't know much but they were free to worship and everything in their lives focused on the bible. over all their ultimate purpose for arriving to the new world was to keep forming their religion and worship as they like.

Puritans had a humble, and simple lifes. Going to church daily was mandatory to them. They had very simple lifes and dressed very prude. Even education was based off the bible all as long as they could read it then they didn't need much more education.
