         <description><![CDATA[<div>Definitions of nursing informatics (NI) have evolved and changed since NI was recognized as a specialty in 1992. This is mostly because the earlier definitions focused mostly on the computer aspect of NI thus causing misinterpretation of what informatics nursing really is. I personally prefer the 2015 American Nurse Association definition, <br><br>"NI supports consumers, patients, the interprofssional healthcare team,and other stakeholders in their decision making in all roles and settings to achieve desired outcomes. This support is accomplished through the use of information structures, information processes,and information technology". </div>]]></description>
