My name is Giuseppe and my surname is Puddu , but everyone calls me Pino.

My Job

I am not a teacher but a technical assistant, I work in a high school with a specialization course in chemistry and a course in Information Technology. My role is to provide assistance to teachers and students during the lessons in the computer labs. Currently in particular I follow two Laboratories, one of digital Electronics and one of CAD and I also intervene where I need my help to solve problems that arise during the teaching activity. In addition to providing assistance during the lessons, I am often busy installing software operating systems of various kinds and repairing the various electronic devices present in the school that sometimes freeze for various reasons. In our institute we have an Electronics Laboratory, two in Computer Science and one in Technical Drawing (CAD), there is also a Great Hall with an Audio / Video system, a Chemistry Laboratory, one in Physics and a Multimedia classroom. Each classroom of the school is equipped with LIM (Multimedia Interactive Board).
Together with a colleague of mine, we work in a way with our work that everything works properly and you can easily do any educational activity every day. In our school there are about 130 Computers.

Before working in the school I was employed as a technician in a company that dealt with Electrical and Electronic installations. I have been working in the school for 28 years, I started with DOS and then I followed all the phases of evolution of the software and hardware of the IT. from the 80s until today. I have acquired particular skills in the field of hardware and good software knowledge. My activity has led me to the use and installation of different types of operating systems such as Windows Linux OS and software such as Office suites, technical drawing programs (CAD), graphics programs such as Photoshop and similar, Audio editing programs and Video, development software for websites, simulation programs for Electronics and so on, the type of work I do has often not allowed me to investigate a certain type of software over another, but I still manage to obtain satisfactory results in all what I use because of the experience gained over the years.

I was born in Arbus where I currently live. Arbus is a small town located on the south-west coast of Sardinia in Italy. The school where I work is about 50 km from my country to reach it every morning I get up at five, I go by car to the nearby station and take the train to Assemini where the institute is. Arbus, like all the countries of Sardinia, is not very populated, it counts 6400 inhabitants in the winter period and about 15000 in the summer period because of the tourists who come for the holidays. The area in which it is situated, like all of Sardinia, has an area of inestimable beauty, largely unspoilt and wild. On Youtube there are many videos like this where you can see the beauty of our territory. In addition to the splendid sea we find a variety of natural sceneries typical of the Mediterranean maquis and various complexes of industrial archeology since for a few centuries Arbus with its hamlets was an important mining pole at European level, from here it was extracted together with the silver the gold, lead and other minerals, coal for large Italian and foreign industries.
