It doesn't mean we aren't accepting, it means we are open to the idea of change and improvement.
2. It really depends on the individual. Gene therapy should be seen as something great and the future of all humans.

1. I think it is a good idea because by altering your DNA in a way you are minisming health factors like diseases, etc. But it can cause discrimination against society, separation between using gene therapy or not
2. Well I don't think they should because changing your height, smartness or athletic ability doesn't mean that

1. It could make society less accepting in a way if we find out what is different about people's genes but if it's used for diseases that I feel that society will still accept those people with diseases just out of sympathy.
2. I feel that people shouldn't be using it to enhance their traits as we should accept what we have. If we work hard, we can make ourselves taller, smarter or faster.

While I think that gene therapy is a good idea to alter (non-cosmetic) traits and characteristics for offspring, but it would lead to some form of descrimination, much like in GATTACA.
I think parents should be able to choose everything except appearance for their child because that would create a new form of discrimination and lead to the kid wondering if they parents would love them the same if they weren't genetically engineered.
If you want to enhance your own genes, I see no problem with that. If you want to make yourself taller, you do that! It's like a more permanent form of makeup.

1. Gene therapy will open various opportunities to improve the worlds medical boundaries in terms of treating diseases. People may be against the idea of tampering with nature or God's creation. As technology further improves, discrimination against genes may occur, similar to GATTACA situation.

2. No. This may create a whole new level of human being which are superhuman. This may give rise to discrimination. This may also create an unfair society as some people will be better than others, creating conflict. Even though it may be able to help those who need it there will be some people who will not use it for the correct reasons.

1. We think this is possible due to "genoism", which is the discrimination of people based on their genetic makeup. However it will provide good opportunity for people to improve living conditions by removing possible gene defects in children. By removing these differences they can be accepted in society and improve their quality of life.
2. No, this will create social class disparity which will always lead to discrimination. People will no longer be discriminated for their outer appearance or race or anything along those lines, but they will now be discriminated based on the genetic makeup. There will also be ethical issues associated with using gene therapy since some people will view enhancing capabilities as 'unnatural' and believe that it should be left up to nature.

Those who are different will be discriminated as they have abilities incomparable to those without it.
2. Gene therapy should be allowed to remove heritable diseases, however not to enhance intelligence and ability. These genetically modified babies should have an Olympic of their own as it unfair for them to compete and most likely win the competition.
