Primarily caused by excessive sun exposure, skin cancer is the most common form of cancer. By disrupting the normal growth and function of cells, cancerous tumors begin to form on the skin. While skin cancer is a broad term that encompasses all different types of it, Melanoma is the most serious form. Early stages of skin cancer are generally treated with minor surgery, but if it becomes too severe, chemotherapy is the typical treatment.

Osteoporosis causes the bones to become very weak as it makes the bones thinner and less dense. At first, there are typically no symptoms, but as time goes on, people start to feel back pain, and their bones become prone to fractures or breaks. Treatment can help, but there is no cure.

One of the most common disorders is Alzheimer's, a horrible illness where the brain's connections slowly degenerate and die, which destroys your memory and brain function. The main symptoms are memory loss and confusion. It is, unfortunately, very common and is especially prevalent in older people. Treatment can temporarily alleviate some symptoms, but there is no cure.

Any injury to one of the senses is quite a disability, while you can probably live without smell or taste, the other three are much more crucial to your survival. As you get older, your senses become less alert and lose some of their function. Usually, hearing is one of the first senses to go, in a very common illness called deafness. While you can go deaf at any age, it is much more common for older people to be hard of hearing. The curability depends on what is causing you to go deaf, but it is generally remedied with hearing aids or minor surgery.
