         <description><![CDATA[<p>Initially it was issues between America and Texas, eventually President K. Polk snapped, and declared this war on may 13th 1846. After the war it eventually led to the Treaty of Guadalupe, Hidalgo agreed to sell California and the rest of its territory north of the Rio Grande for $15 million; the gain in the U.S. territory after the Mexican-American War was roughly 525,000 square miles this growth in the country.</p>]]></description>
