This week I helped out with Julia's solo piece by being an accompanying part by playing the keyboard for her piece. Firstly we listened to what she had created, and due to her playing it on a guitar which had a capo on we had to transpose it into what we needed to play. Our aim was to be able to get the basics of the song sorted and we manged to do that and do more than what we thought. We managed to get the timings right, add things like riffs on guitar and also then record a but of it but the only thing we needed to do was add a bit of bass in to complete it. i think overall we met most of the targets that we set out today and i feel like we did a lot within the hour we had.

For the hour i had i sat down to think about songs that i would like to do.
I wrote down a few songs that i could do and also i thought about maybe doing an original song so i then i started to take notes on types of genre of songs i could maybe write something in. I then practised songs off that list so that i could go down and eliminate the songs from the list that i didn't think that were really too good when I tried to cover them. I also thought of the options of playing something on the piano for one of my solos to see if that would be an option. For the rest of the hour i started to play songs on the piano that i thought that might be a good option to play so i thought of such songs like; Bad Day by Daniel Powter, Palace by The Amazons and This Is Gospel by Panic! At The Disco.

24/01/18
This week I helped out by playing Julia's original song again but this time we added bass into this song because that was the only thing that was missing the first time that we started the play the song we went through this quite a few times due to trying the get timings and figuring out what to do for the ending like the way the instruments should fade out and what instrument should end the song. I also helped out Gina by listen to the songs that she wanted to perform because she asked me to evaluate what was good and what could maybe be done a bit better. For the last hour I went though the list i wrote last week and tried to narrow it down even more and then i went to strum some of the songs on my guitar and practised a few that i thought might be a could idea.

For the first hour and a bit Ben, Carl, Gina and me practised for the lesson that we usually have the day after because i wasn't going to be here due to family reasons and we needed to perfect one of the songs that we were going to perform because we had a last minute change of what song we wanted to perform. We practiced the songs that we needed to which was Sweet child of mine, Mr Brightside and I kissed a girl and out aim was to perfect the songs by getting timings write, tempo write, making sure levels were correct and also try and get through the songs without making hardly any errors.

This week i tried to do a solo performance but it didn't really go to plan. I tried to do when you were young by the killers but it failed terribly. It didn't really go to plan because of a few factors that were going off.  Firstly, i was really well so i feel like that had a slight impact on me because i didn't really have control of my voice due to it hurting me too much to sing. Secondly, i had a lot of personal problems going off plus sometime i do get really anxious before doing a performance but i let my problems and anxiety get the best of me i bit too much. Even though this week was a major fail, i still took on board things to improve and changed songs what i was doing because i felt like i wasn't going to get far with some of the songs i was going to do, So for the rest of the lesson i sat down and went through everything.

14/02/18 
This week went on to improve the fails of the week before and try to at least get a solo kind of sorted. I decided that i wanted to at least have a song that i knew was going to suit my voice, so i decided that i wanted to do stand by me by Ben E King. I got the basics down of the song, like timings, what range of have to get my voice on certain parts of the song. The rest of the lesson i went through the song and tried to memorise the lyrics to the song, i also helped other people by listen to what they had and they wanted me to give my opinion of what i thought of the song that they were doing. i met all the targets i had set myself that day and made sure to at lest practise the other songs that i want to sing such as Yellow by coldplay.

28/02/18
The aim of this week was to get at least one solo done, make sure it was in time and that i sing it at the right pace. i managed to reach the targets that i set for myself. I sang the song Stand by me by Ben E King and the style which this is is soul it will contrast between my other solos because they have the genre of rock, indie, pop and soul. I made a big effort this week to try and put my fears behind me and i managed to get my solo done and that was the main target that i wanted myself to meet this week.

I didn't manage to get anything done this week because i was late because i was at the hospital due to a family emergency.

21/03/18
This week i went through 3 of my solo piece and set myself the target of getting timings right, remembering lyrics of by heart and trying to get the pitch right on one of the songs i was working on. i met those targets due the hour i had to practice this song and i met them by keeping going over and over the songs and if it goes wrong to try and find away found it and try something different with that section to see if it works or not. I also helped out with one of Julia's songs called deaf which we recorded this week.

this week i couldn't sing due to me having tonsillitis and not being able to talk at all or sing. But i did make an agreement that i would be able to do some of my solos the first week back because by time then i would be able to sing this time round.

I felt like i have done alright with this performance and that i tired the best that i could. i know that i could have improved it some more. After this i made sure to practise through the rest of the songs that i will be performing in the next lesson.
