I chose this picture because plants provide food to nearly all terrestrial organisms such as humans. Humans either eat plants directly or organisms that eat plants such as cows. Plants produce oxygen which is essential for survival in all aerobic organisms: humans and animals. Plants also alter the climate for animals that typically live in open fields such as cows. They provide shade, help moderate the temperature, and protect animals from the wind.

I chose this picture because it represents the basic process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is the process by which plants use the energy from sunlight to produce glucose from carbon dioxide and water. Oxygen is also produced through this process. There are several steps involved in the process of photosynthesis. In step one, carbon dioxide enters the plant through stomata and water enters through the roots. During step two the chloroplasts captures the light energy from the sun. Chlorophyll is what gives plants the green color. In the final step, glucose is produced to provide food for the plant and oxygen is a waste gas that the plant releases through its stomata.

The Hepatica is a flowering plant native to Georgia. The angiosperm grows from six to nine inches in height and is shaped like a star. In spring, they are white, blue, or lavender in color and turn burgundy in the winter. The hepatica flower is often found in moist rocky slopes and mossy banks in Georgia.

I believe that tropical rainforests are the biomes that are in the most danger. Rainforests are in great danger of being completely wiped out from deforestation. Tropical rainforests produce over 40% of the planets oxygen on their own. If too many trees are cut down, it could lead to serious dangers. This would destroy the ecosystem itself for extremely large amounts of organisms. This could lead to the complete breakdown of the tropical rainforest biome.

The neolithic revolution was the major turning point in human history. It was the time when farming was developed. It made the shift from hunting and gathering to people growing their own food. Domesticated animals were in this era. People began to settle into permanent villages and new tools was discovered.

The Third Agricultural Revolution is the shift from the agrarian to the industrialized system. It began the introduction of genetically altered high-yield seeds and the expansion of fertilizer use. That is why I chose this picture, it shows the use of fertilizer. Chemical farming began during this revolution-use of synthetic fertilizers , herbicides, and pesticides. Technological and scientific farming also took place. Scientific farming relies on technology and scientific chemicals (fertilizers) to promote crop growth, deter diseases, prevent weeds, and/or solve other agricultural problems.

I believe this is a one of many great depictions of what our future will look like if we continue to neglect present day agriculture, economic, social, and political practices. Landfills will become too filled and run out of space, so the waste will spread all over people's land and just continue to grow. There will be no such thing as a landfill as all land will be filled with waste products. Waste will continue to spread into our water supply and oceans, harming the mammals. Resulting in less access to food (seafood) and less access to clean water.
